Soooo.... I've restarted cross-stitch....
Forgot how annoying it is to get through the material....
I've snapped the needle...
So, I wanted to wear something to show support for my favorite Soldat at the movie tonight, but since my cheap ass didn't want to shell out $25 for a shirt, I decided to try and make a headband. It came out way too big 😂 so hopefully I'll have enough time to make a smaller one. Anyway, here's the big ass one I made. 😝
👻 honestly iconic puck bunny behavior
My annual post-Christmas "MUST LEARN/DO A CRAFT!" bug has taken hold.
I've done cross-stitch in the past and have a large unfinished project I haven't touched in about 4 years, plus multiple untouched projects.
I have one unfinished, LARGE diamond painting project of a Celtic tree of life that I haven't touched in a couple of years.
About 8 years ago, I bought a bunch of knitting looms and a beginner's book of loom knitting projects. They're untouched.
The last couple of weeks, I have been obsessed with the idea of watercolor painting. I can't draw or paint anything, so I don't know why that's becoming an obsession.
Last summer, I bought a crochet hook and skein of yarn made for crocheting a washcloth to try to teach myself how to crochet. Until earlier today, they were still sitting in the plastic bag from the store in a closet. I pulled them out and started watching a tutorial to crochet a washcloth. I have known how to do a single stitch since I was a child and my grandma taught me, but lacked the patience to stick with it back then.
Now it's the frustration of not being able to successfully do a double stitch that stopped me today. *sigh* I've got 8 inches of single stitch chain that I had to set aside because I was ready to tear out my hair.
Why do I do this to myself?
Part of me wishes my muses would just start speaking to me again so that I can pick up writing like I had been. I miss it. Truly.
Idk. I guess I'm not dealing with seasonal depression currently, thanks to my meds and plants' grow lights, but this still is enough to drive me crazy and make me question if I truly am undiagnosed ADHD (since I apparently carry the primary gene for it). 🤦♀️
Attempts at hats
Attempt one
Very Smol! like a thimble.
Attempt Two:
bigger and a bit better but still too tiny to be a hat, and has a mixed of odd stitches, sewed some leftover tshirt material i had lying around as lining and turned it into a holder for my paper clips.
Attempt three:
Itty bitty bucket hat, tied it to the paper clip holder as a lid.
I'm still figuring it out lol, but hey practice makes prefect.
I dropped a thing of beads at work today...
And they went like 10feet in ever direction, which doesn't sound like much but when there are over 300 10 mm little beads all over the place it gets to be slightly stressful
Me: Sure, I bet I can crochet two rectangles of roughly the same size, that must be easy.
The rectangles: 🙄🖕 bitch. You don't know simple shapes lmfao 🤣
Well well well, this makes things interesting. They are going to be used for their intended purpose, whether they like it or not! I may or may not report back, depending on how badly things go 🤔
