For the non-native anon: thesaurus is usually a good resource, even for when you think you don't need it. It can be good to try different styles too, both in books you read and stories you write, get out of your comfort zone and learn new words that way. Not being a native speaker is definitely not an insurmountable obstacle when it comes to writing. (Hope this didn't come off as too patronizing, just trying to help)

A thesaurus can definitely aid with vocabulary, but it can be easy to over-use it! It’s a good way to learn new words but if you start using a different word for the word “said” (for example) in every sentence, it can be distracting. Moderation is also important, and words change based on the emotion of the character and the scene. At this point with just taking in more written content, practice is going to help you figure out what feels right and less bland.

One wolf says you should make your ocs into whatever inspires you most, and draw them for your own self pleasure with no regard for audience or palatability

The other wolf says your ocs should be relatable and curated for a diverse audience with fleshed out ideas and storylines for the sake of drawing in interest from others

Both of these wolves can exist simultaneously
