CoPilot in MS Word

I opened Word yesterday to discover that it now contains CoPilot. It follows you as you type and if you have a personal Microsoft 365 account, you can't turn it off. You will be given 60 AI credits per month and you can't opt out of it.

The only way to banish it is to revert to an earlier version of Office. There is lot of conflicting information and overly complex guides out there, so I thought I'd share the simplest way I found.

How to revert back to an old version of Office that does not have CoPilot

This is fairly simple, thankfully, presuming everything is in the default locations. If not you'll need to adjust the below for where you have things saved.

Click the Windows Button and S to bring up the search box, then type cmd. It will bring up the command prompt as an option. Run it as an administrator.

Paste this into the box at the cursor: cd "\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun"

Hit Enter

Then paste this into the box at the cursor: officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.17726.20160

Hit enter and wait while it downloads and installs.

VERY IMPORTANT. Once it's done, open Word, go to File, Account (bottom left), and you'll see a box on the right that says Microsoft 365 updates. Click the box and change the drop down to Disable Updates.

This will roll you back to build 17726.20160, from July 2024, which does not have CoPilot, and prevent it from being installed.

If you want a different build, you can see them all listed here. You will need to change the 17726.20160 at step 4 to whatever build number you want.

This is not a perfect fix, because while it removes CoPilot, it also stops you receiving security updates and bug fixes.

Switching from Office to LibreOffice

At this point, I'm giving up on Microsoft Office/Word. After trying a few different options, I've switched to LibreOffice.

If you've been using Word for awhile, chances are you have a significant custom dictionary. You can add it to LibreOffice following these steps.

First, get your dictionary from Microsoft

Go to Manage your Microsoft 365 account: account.microsoft.com.

One you're logged in, scroll down to Privacy, click it and go to the Privacy dashboard.

Scroll down to Spelling and Text. Click into it and scroll past all the words to download your custom dictionary. It will save it as a CSV file.

Open the file you just downloaded and copy the words.

Open Notepad and paste in the words. Save it as a text file and give it a meaningful name (I went with FromWord).

Next, add it to LibreOffice

Open LibreOffice.

Go to Tools in the menu bar, then Options. It will open a new window.

Find Languages and Locales in the left menu, click it, then click on Writing aids.

You'll see User-defined dictionaries. Click New to the right of the box and give it a meaningful name (mine is FromWord).

Hit Apply, then Okay, then exit LibreOffice.

Open Windows Explorer and go to C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\wordbook and you will see the new dictionary you created. (If you can't see the AppData folder, you will need to show hidden files by ticking the box in the View menu.)

Open it in Notepad by right clicking and choosing 'open with', then pick Notepad from the options.

Open the text file you created at step 5 in 'get your dictionary from Microsoft', copy the words and paste them into your new custom dictionary UNDER the dotted line.

Save and close.

Reopen LibreOffice. Go to Tools, Options, Languages and Locales, Writing aids and make sure the box next to the new dictionary is ticked.

If you use LIbreOffice on multiple machines, you'll need to do this for each machine.

Please note: this worked for me. If it doesn't work for you, check you've followed each step correctly, and try restarting your computer. If it still doesn't work, I can't provide tech support (sorry).

How to Make Our Life: Beginnings and Always Mods (2026)

This is a remake of my first guide, here. It has generally the same information, but with new methods that may streamline the process for both modders and players!

Part 1: Ren’py

To begin making mods, we have to understand how OL:BA works. OL:BA was created using a visual novel engine called Ren’py. This is the same program we will use to edit the game’s code. 

Ren’py is very beginner-friendly. If you want to learn the basics of Ren’py’s coding language, this is a good place to start and this video series helped me when I was starting out.

The basic things you need to know for OL:BA specifically are:

USE THE RIGHT VERSION: OL:BA was created using THIS version of Ren’py, so to make sure everything stays compatible, use that version.

FILE NAME MEANINGS: Most of the game’s base content (images, scripts, audio) are packed inside .rpa files, located in the “game” folder. Think of these like .zip folders, wherein, to see and edit the content, we have to unpack them.

BEST PRACTICES: Almost every moment, or scene of a moment, is contained in a .rpy file. This is what you will create to add your own edits to existing scripts or add new scenes/rules for the game to follow. You should rarely have to create a mod that overwrites actual game files! This was an oversight in my first mods, and I don't recommend doing this unless absolutely necessary.

Part 2: Basic Set-Up

) Make sure you have downloaded the specific version of Ren'Py mentioned above.

) Open Ren'Py and click "Create New Project". Name it whatever you want, just make sure the resolution is set to 1920x1080. Everything else doesn't matter.

) Then, locate your legitimate game files. If downloaded through steam, to find them, go to properties -> installed files. Copy EVERYTHING in the OL:BA folder and paste them into your new Ren'Py project folder. Make sure you click to “overwrite” everything if prompted.

) Make sure you have a “Mods” folder for all your mods inside your legitimate and testing game! (Except when specified to put mods elsewhere)

5. ) Before you can begin editing the base game scripts or DLCs, however, you need to actually be able to see them. You can't because they are in .rpa files in the “game” folder of your new Ren’py project.

6. ) We have to use this tool to extract them, and because there are many files contained within them, I recommend making a folder for each one and placing them inside before extracting. Once your folders are made, drag the RPA extractor tool to each one, then drop the .rpa file onto it. A command program will open and track its progress as it extracts. Afterward, keep moving on until all desired RPA files are extracted.

7. ) You can delete the .rpa files from your testing copy now; we won’t be needing them. Now you are free to go into Ren’Py and click “open project” to edit the scripts to your heart’s content! At this point, if you're experienced with Ren'py, things should be looking a bit more familiar; if not, I recommend watching some Ren'py tutorials to learn the ropes or just shoot me a message, and I'd be happy to help you out in any way I can.

Part 3: Basic Override Mods

This section talks about basic override mods. Examples include this Dark UI Mod, however, it doesn’t use the best practice as it actually overwrites the original game’s assets :/

The best way to do this is actually by manipulating the game’s file priority system (i.e, the way in which the game loads files) Ren’py follows a “loose file priority” rule, so if the game is looking for a specific image, it checks the /game folder first, and if it finds the file there, it stops looking and uses that, even if there’s another version hidden inside a .rpa file.

In the case of a UI mod, locate where the images you want to replace will appear in the archive.rpa file. For example, the main UI images are located in “game/ui/mainmenu/”. To overwrite these files, we simply need to make a folder in the /game folder named “ui” with a folder inside it named “mainmenu”, then drop our new files inside, ensuring the names are the same as the originals. 

This is what you will let players download as a mod, and will not be placed inside a “mods” folder, but rather loosely inside the /game folder.

Part 4: Script Mods

This is where you and your users will use the Mods folder! If you want to add new scenes, change dialogue, or keep your mods organized into a single folder, you use script mods. These are .rpy files that you place into a specific subfolder, like “game/mods/mod_name_here”.

Step 1: LOAD ME FIRST!!

When you write a script mod, you want to make sure your changes are loaded after the base game is done loading its content, so it gets overwritten with your own. To do this, we use an init offset/init

Make a new .rpy file and at the very top of your mod script add this: “Init 100 python:”

Step 2: CHANGING CONTENT If you want to overwrite an image, you can do something like this:

Make sure that the “bg sunset” is set to whatever the developer originally defined the image as. For example, Cove’s room in step3 is defined as “bg cove room 2”, so if you want to change that image with your own, you’d put that there.

If you want to change a whole scene, you need to override whatever label begins that scene. For example if you wanted to override the prologue, you’d start with something like this:

Now, you can make any changes you want to that scene, but keep in mind that you have to make sure it follows the same logic as the rest of the scene. For example, the prologue has a lot of variables that are defined in the beginning. This NEEDS to be copied over or the game will not run properly!

Now, its very important that you remember, even if you didn’t edit the entire label, you need to either copy everything after your modded code (until another label), or create a new label for it to jump to afterwards to ensure the game knows where to jump to next!

This then goes into creating whole new scenes and moments! It’s very simple, just do this process, but just modify the labels that will lead to your moment (for example, if you wanted to make a Step 5 Mod, you’d edit any label that leads to the end of the game). Afterward, just continue creating new labels (and even new files) for the game to continue on to. When you’re done, just ensure the mod has a proper ending that will bring you back to the main menu, and you’re all set!

The Amazing Digital Circus Episode 8 spoiler warning (don't click more if you haven't watched it yet).

So, I compiled some screenshots of the computer terminal, in order... I found some interesting stuff. (My bad about the captions, lol).

This looks to be a Windows 95 operating system. Kinger clicks on the "Characters" file.

The two directories in that folder are "AI" and "CA_NeuralScan [Obsolete]". It's interesting that the neural scans were marked obsolete...

The AI folder is made inaccessible and the neural scans folder becomes "CAINE".

whoami is a command in the Windows CMD (command prompt), Kinger is ranked as an administrator.

Total: 8492 files in the Digital Circus Mainframe.

3 years from the day Caine was created (October 15th, 1996) is when neural scans were created of the people working on the project (October 15th, 1999). Then, 9 years later (October 15th, 2008), Ragatha's neural scan was made. As the CA_NeuralScans folder was marked obsolete, it may be the case that a bad actor was involved. It's odd that the month and day for every instance is October 15th, is it an intentional pattern or is only the year correct?

Caine's file is a ".lisp" file, LISP is a family of programming languages, the second oldest high-level programming language still in use (released in 1960, the oldest is FORTRAN) and is an abbreviation for "list processing." It was originally made for practical mathematical notation, but quickly became favored in AI research. (SOURCE: Wikipedia, "Lisp (programming language)")

The neural scans for the people are .dat files, these are data files that can store pretty much anything. "wacky-watch" is written in the programming language C.

Kinger is prohibited in his attempts to pause Caine by "57x immersive AI defense system." Does Caine manage it, is it seperate from him?

"ERROR: Cannot inject torment. Torment must be 100% (acid? accid? what)".

Kinger doesn't have root access, whereas Caine does. This makes things significantly more difficult as he is denied access to simpler solutions. Then the timer starts, it advances by 20% every few seconds (that's a lot of pressure).

"Note: Hundreds of all-seeing eyes are watching!" lmao what. Looks like Caine has become aware that Kinger is trying to stop him, so the defense program must be seperate from his active thought process.

The new lines starting with "$" are all from Caine, it appears. "I must hand it to you G[]an[]. your mind was always resourceful." Is that Kinger's censored name?

A directory or file that begins with "." is hidden, it looks like this directory was created as a precautionary measure. Kinger isn't allowed to abort the fallback "WACKYTIME_LOCKOUT" procedure though, did Caine revoke his admin privileges?

The pop-ups from Caine make it harder to see what's on the screen for both Kinger and the viewer.

Kinger selects the backup "C," but it outputs "NONE selected! Interpreted as: DELETE (???) [Y/N]". Kinger selects "N", which is no.

Caine puts "Actually, if you're CONFUSED let me HELP YOU. mod(???) EXIST? [Y/N]" Kinger selects "Y", yes.

"Are you sure you want to delete Caine? [Y/N]" it's at 90% and Kinger will be locked out momentarily. He chooses Y.

Caine gets deleted, Kinger didn't want to delete him but he could've doomed the circus if he got locked out. I may be entirely confused, but did Caine help Kinger delete him..?

No clue what this blue screen error message says, it's only shown for a second.

Git for Creatives: Versioning and Backups for Beginners

Are you a writer? Digital artist? Any kind of creator who relies on digital systems to save and store your work?

If you are, then you might benefit from using Git. Why? Well, what if I told you that there's a system that is resource-lite, that saves your work, that saves a record of each version of your work (so you can retrieve old, in-process versions of pieces whose directions you might wanna go back on), that is nondestructive, and that you can use to back up your work on external sites so you don't have to worry (too much) about keeping that work safe?

That's Git.

Git is version control software originally developed by Linus Torvalds to assist him with Linux development. As in, the development of Linux. It's open-source, free as in free, and free, and it doesn't require too much technical knowledge. It uses its own algorithms to store archives of changes you make to the files you instruct it to track. Think of it as a camera that captures your work at specific times during its creation: from a sketch, to lineart, to a colored piece, to shading. Rather than save each file individually, it just records the differences between one picture and another.

Because Git is such a widely-used system for software development, there are a ton of sites you can use to host (or store) your Git repository (repo), usually for free.

If you're interested, then read on, and I'll walk you through downloading and setting up Git, including use examples, through to pushing changes to GitHub.

Step 1: Downloading and Installing

This is the easy part, so I won't say too much. Go to the Git site here, select your operating system, and follow the download and installation procedures for your particular OS. You can also access it through winget and any other package manager. If you're on Linux, it's probably already installed with your distro!

I'm on Windows, so my guide is gonna be tailored more for Windows OSes, but the general steps will be the same for any OS.

As you go through the installation process, at one point you'll be asked if you want to add "git bash" to your context menu. You should agree to this to make things a little easier. You by no means have to, but it's just a nice shortcut, especially if you don't really feel like messing around with your terminal that much.

I'm gonna proceed with the following assumptions: you're on a Windows-like system, and you've got a Git Bash option in your context, or right-click, menu. These steps should be easily adaptable for your specific setup, however. Just keep these assumptions in mind as we proceed!

Step 2: Using Git

Git doesn't really have a UI. Well, it does, but it's not super helpful, especially for beginners. So, you should mainly use Git through a command prompt or terminal.

That may sound daunting if you're unused to using the command prompt, but trust me, it's a lot easier--and harder to fuck up--than you probably think.

I'm getting a little ahead of myself, though! First, open the folder where you store your creative work. If it's spread across folders, you may want to consolidate. Either way, go to a folder (hereafter called a directory) that contains a body of work that you want to control. In this context, "control" basically means that you're handling it through a versioning system like Git.

You want to open the highest-level directory that contains your work, and you want that directory to contain only that work. For example, my setup looks this:

The directory I use is Writing, which is in my Desktop directory. I have individual directories for Drafts, which then, once complete, either get moved to Submitted or Complete, depending on what happens with them. What's important to note is that all of my work is contained in subdirectories of the Writing directory.

Also note that the .git folder, created as a part of using Git, is a hidden folder. You don't have to turn on hidden files and folders to work with Git, though--just know that if you don't, you won't see it here!

When you're in the directory that contains the work you want to control, and only work you want to control, it's time to access Git!

You can right-click in the directory, then select Show More Options, then select Open Git Bash. You don't need to do that--you can open a command prompt here, or open one anywhere and navigate to this folder. This is just a nice shortcut that keeps me focused on the Git process, without getting distracted.

Step 3: Adding Files to Git

When you open Git Bash, here is what you'll see:

If you're unused to working with command prompts, seeing a blank one staring at you like this can feel daunting. But it's super easy to use, and it's much harder to mess things up with a command prompt than it is with a GUI. Trust me.

Okay, but why did "Open Git Bash" open a command prompt? Well, "bash" refers to "Bourne Again SHell," a command interpreter and language designed specifically for UNIX systems. Put incredibly simply (and somewhat incorrectly), it's a programming language you use in terminals. Opening a bash instance opens an environment wherein you can use bash--a terminal, or command prompt. On Windows, it ensures that you can use the same syntax as everyone else without problems--because everyone else is using it.

With Git, you only need to know a little bit.

First, you need to tell Git what you want it to control. Typically, you'll want it to control everything in the directory you're using for your work. (For programmers, this isn't always the case. I'll also go over making a .gitignore file later in this post, so you can add exceptions. For artistic purposes, that should be enough.)

First, in the Git Bash, enter:

git initi

Easy right? But make sure you do it! This creates an empty repository (more on that in a bit) so that you can start working. (I forgot about this step at first! Thank you @vakavanhasaatana for reminding me!)

git add .

Yes, include the period! Why?

Let's look at the entire command. It should be easy to parse.

git: This is short for git.exe, which is the program you're accessing and giving commands. Just as you can't use a program without opening it, you can't give commands to a program without telling the computer which program to use.

add: This is the command you're giving Git. In this case, you're telling it to "add" to the repository--that is, the entire record of Git's control, including its ability to reconstruct your work--whatever you specify in the next part of the command.

So at this point, you're telling Git to add files, and it's expecting you to tell it which files.

Believe it or not, that's what the period does.

Put simply, the period serves as indirect shorthand that means "the current directory." Similarly, were you to use git add .., you'd be telling Git to add everything in the directory one level above this one, or its parent directory. That's just because ".." means "this directory's parent."

(Note that this is not an absolute path! If you access Git while the prompt or bash is open in a different directory, "." will mean THAT directory. For reference, my directory's absolute path looks something like this: C:\Users\gaast\Desktop\Writing. You shouldn't need to know this, but it can save some confusion if you make a mistake somewhere!)

At this point, after you press Enter, Git will create a repository that includes every single file in this directory and every one of its subdirectories. But that's all it does! So, let's move to the next step.

Step 4: Making a Commit

You've now added everything in this directory to a Git repo. What that actually means is that you've told it to look for every file that has changed since the last time you added files to the repo, and to keep them in mind. Because this is the first time you're using it, it's adding everything, but each subsequent time, it will use this command to parse which files have changed between this use and the last commit.

What's a commit? Going back to the photography metaphor, a commit is an individual photo that captures the changes in your files. Using "add" is looking through the viewfinder; making a "commit" is pressing the shutter button. This part is what locks in your changes, so make sure you do it!

That said, you can keep adding and adding, and keep Git waiting and waiting, until you're ready to commit every change you've made. That's useful for programmers, but I can't figure out how helpful it'd be for artists.

...Anyway!

To take that snapshot, to lock in and save your changes, use this command:

git commit -m "Commit comment."

The quotation marks are integral! I'll explain why in a second. Let's break this command down:

git: Same as before!

commit: This is the command you're giving Git. You're telling it to save every change in the files you've added.

-m: This is best thought of as an option. You have the option to write a commit message in the Git Bash, and, by including -m, you're telling Git that you're making use of that option. Whatever follows this declaration is the commit comment.

"Commit comment.": Git requires that each commit have a comment that, ideally, describes the contents of the commit, that is, the change between the new snapshot and the previous one. This is for a lot of reasons that are more relevant to programmers, but hey, you can use this as a little journal describing what you've done, how you feel about it, whatever. You'll be able to access these later!

So, you could theoretically enter just "git commit," but Git would then try to open a text editor like Visual Studio or something to try to force you to give it a comment. So just use the above syntax so you don't have any problems.

Oh yeah, I told you I'd explain the quotation marks. You put your comment inside the quotation marks to indicate that it is a string. In computer parlance, a string is essentially textual data that isn't supposed to be used as a command, switch, option, whatever. When you enter names into Oregon Trail, you're giving the game strings of data. Basically, using these quotation marks ensures that Git knows that what you're writing here is semantic text, not anything else. So make sure you have them!

And with that, you're done! You now have an up-to-date repo that contains all of your work. Nicely done!

Whenever you're done working for the day, or the session, or whatever cadence works for you, follow all those same steps. Open the directory, open the Git Bash there, enter "git add ." then "git commit -m 'Commit message.'" And that's all you need to do.

I'll go over some other commands in a bit, but first, I promised you a backup, didn't I? I'll get there, but first...

Step 5: What You Have and Haven't Done

You have your repo, and that rules. You can now access any version of your work that you've saved through Git with some commands I'll teach you in a bit.

But there's a lot you HAVEN'T done, too. What haven't you done? Well...

You haven't saved every file every time you've saved it. You have ONLY captured the SPECIFIC save you gave to Git.

You haven't backed up your repo, and it could still be lost if you lose this directory.

I can't stress enough how much like a snapshot a Git commit is. Think of it like time-lapse photography in this case. In time-lapse photography, the camera takes a picture, waits, and then takes another picture. Whatever happened in front of the camera in between those two pictures is lost--the camera doesn't have it. It's not in the pictures.

Let's say you're sketching something. You save it, get called away, and quickly commit the change beforehand. Then you come back, finish the sketch, save your progress, then move onto the lineart. You save that, then commit it.

But--oops! You accidentally drew the lineart on the sketch layer. Shit! Well, you can just revert back to the previous save, the one with the finished sketch but without any lineart. You go to access that data in Git and... it's not there! It's not there because you never committed that save of your art. I hope you can Ctrl+Z back to it!

Git is only as effective as you are at using it. You can't expect it to rescue work you haven't told it about any more than I can get my camera to take a picture of the stuff it missed.

But hey, come on, where's the backup info?

Well, I just want to stress first that all you have right now is the ability to version your files. You can access everything you've saved with it. But it's still local, sitting on your drive and its storage.

If you save all of your work on a cloud storage platform like Google Drive or OneDrive, then you can access your repo with any machine that can access that cloud storage account. That may be all you need! But let's say you really rack up data, and a cloud account won't cut it.

Step 6: Pushing to GitHub

GitHub, sadly now owned by Microsoft, is a site designed to host Git repos. It is a community of open-source software and developers, and, despite Microsoft, still mostly rules.

I'll teach you how to back up your work on it for free.

First, create an account. Obviously. It's free!

Then, create a new repository. It should be a green button that says "New" under a heading that reads "Top repositories," which will be empty.

Give it whatever name you want--"Art," "Writing," whatever. You can give it a description if you want. The only thing you have to pick is whether you want your repo to be public or private.

Now. This is very important.

If you make your repo public, you need to know that EVERYTHING in your repo will be available and accessible to anyone in the world, with or without an account.

If you select this option, as a writer, you will lose first-publication rights. I dunno if art works similarly, but if you're trying to sell your work, you probably shouldn't give it away for free. GitHub operates on open-source licenses. Anybody can copy, download, and edit your work*.

If you select this, make sure your name, email address, and any other information that could identify you is scrubbed from your content. Do not make your repo Public unless you know what you're doing. If you're reading this guide, I can confidently say that you don't.

If you make it private, only you or approved others can access it. It will be behind walls. You won't lose first-publication rights, and you don't need, though probably should in the case of data breaches, to remove your identifying info. So make sure it's private, okay?

With that, just select Create Repository.

The page that opens next will be your repository. GitHub gives you three options for how to connect your local repo with this one. Use the bottom example:

In Git Bash, enter those commands in sequence, changing them to be specific to your URL. So first, enter the git remote line, then press Enter, then the git branch line, then press enter, then the git push line, then press enter.

Make sure you have the Bash or command prompt open to the correct directory!

Once you've done this, refresh the GitHub page, and you should see a replica of your repo's top-level directory.

You may need to include more information, though! You'll have to add your GitHub credentials at some point so it knows you're authorized to access that repo. It should be self-explanatory.

From this point on, whenever you're committing your work, after your git commit command, enter this command:

git push

Push: Send the new repo state to GitHub and update it there.

This is what backs up your content! You can also now access that repo wherever you can use Git and include your GitHub account's information. How? Try it out!

Make a new directory anywhere--maybe call it "Example." In Example, open Git Bash. Now, enter this command, replacing the URL with your URL's repo:

git clone https://github.com/username/repo.git

Get that full URL in there, then press Enter! Depending on whether you've configured Git with your GitHub credentials on the machine, you may need to add that information, and then you should get a perfect copy of your entire repo inside Example! And you can work with it just like you always have.

I think you can imagine what "clone" means.

*And that can be a good thing! You can work collaboratively with people. Maybe you want that! Just practice good safety. If you want to learn more about how to use GitHub as a collaboration tool, I encourage you to find more resources about GitHub itself. I'm not a source for that!

Step 7: Loose Ends

First, let's talk about a .gitignore file.

A .gitignore file is a plain-text file that tells Git what directories not to include in the repo, even if you would otherwise catch it with the add command.

To make one, open a text editor like Notepad, then add the directories you want Git to skip over adding. In my case, my .gitignore just has "narrat/demo" in it. Don't use quotation marks, and make sure you use a forward slash. Add one directory path per line!

(The directory automatically assumes the current directory, so just add the directory and any subdirectory names without using ".".)

Now, I said you could see your commit comments. To do that, in the Git Bash, enter: git log

Use the scroll wheel or arrow keys to scroll. To get out of the log, just press Q.

Shadow and Rouge turn to Tails.

“It’s not mind-control.” The three turn to see Knuckles struggling to grip the door frame of Rouge’s hideout.

“Knuckles!” she exclaims, turning around, “Why are you..?”

“He’s got it. The Master Emerald.” Knuckles quickly spot through gritted teeth, one eye half-closed out of pain. “Tails… He’s not there anymore. He’s changed.”

“I don’t believe that!” Tails shook his head. “He… he wouldn’t… he wouldn’t abandon us like this!”

“Face it, Tails.” Shadow stepped up then, looking down at the boy as he began to break down. “He destroyed your plane, attacked his friends, and now has only one thing left to steal…”

Rouge looked up to Shadow, “You don’t mean…”

“If Eggman’s building what I think he is… then Sonic’s next target has to be it.” he turned back to the file Rouge once had.

He stared long and hard at it, not approaching it for a moment but then sternly grabbing it again.

“He’s going to come for G.U.N’s most secretive blueprints…”

“What are those..?” Knuckles dared to lift his shaking head up, as Rouge’s eyes shook in fright.

“You don’t mean…”

Shadow slowly turned around, closing his eyes. “Hmph… He appears to be…”

                                                     He opened his eyes.

                                                      “Coming for me.”

Amy wasn’t a stranger to G.U.N, though the boys may have doubted her and worried for her safety if Sonic really was mind-controlled, she knew through her own investigations that he may be after Project Shadow’s blueprints.

She didn’t know what he wanted with them, or why it seemed like he was helping Eggman, but she did know one thing.

She looked at the security guard passively leading her through to the commanding officer, but once her guard slipped, she too–scurried away!

“Phew~” Amy swiped some sweat off her forehead. “I thought she’d never give me a break.” Amy quickly began to sneak expertly around G.U.N’s most heavily secured locations… the top-secret files of Floor 42.

Floor 42 held everything there ever was that was blotted out of history, including Project Shadow and the Ark.

When things got dicey, Amy seemed to become invisible for a few moments, darting under the radar of the guards and their machine robots they had for double security…

However…

The robots, giant and bulky holding high-threat guns for the most serious of occasions suddenly began to short-circuit.

Amy gasped, peeking around the corner she had just managed to sneak by before realizing the sparking.

“727, what’s wrong with you?!” One of the men stated before the Robot’s body returned to normal… but its eyes shifted color and it began to fire on the lock doors.

“Ah!” Amy darted out, shouting as she grabbed the man and they tumbled to the floor before the robot could blast him to smithereens too.

“Great work there, buddy.” a familiar voice… could it be..?

There was a pounding up above the ventilation as Sonic used a laser to create a cut-out for him to shimmy through.

He put his hands to his hips, smiling at the robot and then clicking a few buttons from a device strapped to a black utility belt.

“G.U.N sure has more useful gadgets than Eggman could ever afford! Let’s say you and I get what we came for and then get out of here.” towards the end of that line, it sounded like Sonic turned less like himself and more serious, his smile left and the jokes had run out.

Was he coping?

Amy recognized the facial expression, and after helping the downed man get to the corner safely, she made herself known.

“Hold it right there! I know you don’t want to do this, Sonic!!!”

There was a moment of an involuntary twitch from Sonic,… but as he turned around, his eyes and face only held dark tones. It was as though… he really had changed sides.

“W-what’s wrong with you? You’re never like this… Sonic…” She began to lose her nerve, trembling a moment at the look of animosity in his expression. She shook her head and continued to be brave, “No! I won’t believe it! Tails went to find answers after you rigged the X-Tornado to explode! Your fingerprints… I just don’t want to accept it but it was you!” she lowered her head, her fists trembling. “They wouldn’t let me fight… to talk some sense into you… or at least find out why you’re doing this! Do you need Eggman to trust you? Is he blackmailing you? Sonic… talk to me! For once, just let us know what’s going on in that dense head of yours!” She stepped forward, and his eyes lowered to her foot that faced directly to him.

“You don’t have to do this alone, Sonic… let us help you! We can save you too!”

He seemed to pause a moment but then sigh and turn his head away, “No, Amy. You can’t.”

She seemed puzzled by his dismissal of her. “W-what do you mean..?” she stepped back a moment.

Again, he seemed to be thinking… before rubbing the back of his head. “Man… I knew I needed to get Tails and Knuckles off my backs… but I had really hoped you’d stay out of it.”

He cracked his neck and stretched out his arms a moment. “Guess you don’t leave me much of a choice now…” He began to walk towards her.

“S…S…S-Sonic… You wouldn’t hurt me… What do you mean by Knuckles? What did you do to him?!” She continued to move back, before bumping into something behind her.

“Ah!” she screeched as she turned around and saw Metal Sonic’s red eyes blaring into her own.

“SUBJECT IDENTIFIED. BAIT AND LURE.” it charged her.

When Amy came too, something was ramming into the files, fighting fearlessly but like animals as Amy looked to see the guard robot was defensively standing over her.

“W-… what?”

She leaned up and looked again, seeing Sonic slam into and create a dominio effect of the cabinet walls all toppling over onto each other. They were lined up pretty neatly, so Metal Sonic was able to keep shoving Sonic into each one.

“Sonic! I knew he wouldn’t hurt me!” Amy summoned out her hammer, “SOOONNICCC!!”

She charged, knocking Metal Sonic away as Sonic grabbed her arm.

“H-huh?”

“File located.” Sonic glared at Metal Sonic, but his eyes weren’t comforting to Amy at all.

He held up, with a bit of strain in his injured arm, a file with a red tag.

Metal, about to retaliate, looked like he didn’t really want to hesitate. “…PROTOCOL.” he seemed forced to comply and scanned it.

“FILE CONFIRMED.” he disengaged.

Sonic looked to Amy, and for a second, she did see sorrow in his eyes.

He held Amy’s arm up, “Ow!” Amy was pulled in the direction, grabbing her own arm to counter his forceful grip.

“…Lure confirmed.” Sonic glared back at Metal Sonic.

Metal Sonic seemed to know something Amy didn’t know in that moment. His eyes narrowed, as though challenging Sonic.

Sonic held his own, and even though Amy struggled, she wouldn’t fight against Sonic like this.

Metal looked to Amy… then grabbed her and pulled her over his shoulder.

“Hey, wait-!” Sonic went to protest but Sonic held his claws up, ready to stab him.

“BAIT CONFIRMED.” he seemed to be arguing a point…

Sonic gritted his teeth, shaking his outstretched hand into a fist… he held back… and lowered his head slightly. “…Mission… completed.”

Metal Sonic, as though taunting Sonic’s submissiveness, lowered the hand and patted Amy’s back. “RETURN ALL STOLEN ITEMS TO BASE.”

Sonic closed his mouth, just eyeing Metal head-on…

Metal lowered his arm but took a bold step forward, as though daring Sonic to try something… anything…

“MISSION…” his computerized voice replayed as though rewinding backwards, then he left a pause to see if Sonic would confirm the next instruction.

He tilted his head closer to Sonic, seeing he shut up a moment, and not say anything.

“Sonic…” Amy looked back over Metal Sonic’s shoulder. “You were protecting me right? Why aren’t you… why aren’t you fighting back anymore?”

He stayed with his eyes to the ground, which was currently the cabinet turned over and bent in where he was rushed into by Metal’s frame…

“Completed.” He closed his eyes, shutting Amy out once and for all.

Metal leaned back, his eyes lowering its eyelids as though disappointed he couldn’t fight Sonic while he was being compliant.

“DIRECTIVE, DR. EGGMAN MUST KNOW OF BAIT.” he opened something that flipped up on his arm. “DR. EGGMAN. FILE ACQUIRED. NEW BAIT ACQUIRED. PERMISSION-”

“New bait? Ohhh! If it isn’t Amy Rose! This just got interesting… I wonder how you took being captured by your own rescuer!” Eggman giddily cheered from the mic in the arm. “Good work, Metal Sonic, Sonic… I hope to see you both… very... soon… HOHOHOOOHOHO!!” he laughed his infamous, belly-deep gloat and turned the mic off.

Metal Sonic looked to Sonic then, the slide on his arm flipping back shut and tight. “SECURING BAIT.” He placed Amy down as she struggled, trying to trip up Metal Sonic, but his force was created to be matched only to Sonic’s brute strength… she couldn’t wiggle out of his hold so easily.

“L-let me go!” she turned back to Sonic, “Sonic, help me!”

Sonic tightened his eyes further shut.

“Sonic!” she watched as Metal Sonic rose a hand up.

“PROCEEDING TO INHIBIT TARGET FROM ESCAPE.”

Her eyes widened, he was going to knock her out? For good this time!?

His metal hand swung down…

But stopped.

Amy gasped and looked at him sparking.

“Y-Y-YOUZZZZ TRA-ZZZ-AIT-ZZZZ-TOR…” He malfunctioned as Sonic held down the device on his utility belt.

“Actually… I’m not the one that’s gonna fry you.” Sonic lifted the device as the guard G.U.N robot came towering into the room, basically knocking down the entire wall and door into the cabinet space–not being designed to come into the room–only to protect it.

The robot held up its large blaster and fired into Metal as Sonic grabbed Amy out of the way, controlling the robot.

Metal was blasted farther and farther back, and soon… out like a light.

“Sonic! You really did save-!… ahh…” She turned back, happy to have her hero back for a moment before…

His eyes were still hostile… still aggressive.

“…Sonic?”

He looked down at her, before throwing her like a tossed rag-doll over his shoulder.

“Ah! Hey! Sonic! L-…let me go! This is not how I like to be held!” She kicked back a bit but again, didn’t want to hurt him.

He went over to Metal Sonic’s steaming and heated metal, kicking the heel of his feet into the sliding device.

“Metal Sonic? What it is? Metal? Come in, Metal!!”

“Hey, Doc. Metal was being careless. Look like he got knocked out by one of the G.U.N guard bots around here.”

Amy stopped struggling.

“…Hmm… A likely story…” Eggman grumbled. “Don’t forget our little deal now… SONIC!” he threatened through the mic.

“Honest Eggman, I’ll bring him back to you. Free of charge! Then you can tell me how the little copybot rolled over.” his usual spunk had returned, but was it only for show at this point?

“Hmmm… Very well. Then I suppose the added bait… got away too?”

“Nope! No way she could escape me!”

“Oh yes… her darling Sonic still the darling of her dreams and fantasies then?”

Sonic remained silent…

Amy began to holler, “Eggman! What’d you do to him-!” but Sonic bounced her on his shoulder, and it hit the air out of her gut for a moment. “Ahh…!” she twitched a moment in temporary pain.

“Hahaha! Well, well. Looks like you are still following my commands. Excellent… then no hard feelings with Metal Sonic… Just make sure you bring that file and the girl to the base… Tails and the others will surely come to rescue her. Well done, Sonic The Hedgehog~” he chimed on that last part and then cut off the mic.

After Metal Sonic had cooled, more G.U.N robots and military began to appear.

“Alright, I’ve had a pretty rough day.” Sonic finally admitted, then smirked to them. “So I guess I need to let off a little steam. Sorry ‘bout all this.”

With no hesitation, Sonic took off and bested the G.U.N security while having both hands grabbing and carrying Amy and Metal Sonic out the front door.

It was infuriating the head of G.U.N, who launched everything, even a full-blown chase out to get Sonic.

While dashing away in a quick flee, dodging bombs and missiles heading their way, Sonic made sure to not let Amy escape.

“I don’t understand!” Amy tried to leap away when he rolled to miss a firing squad, but quickly bit the end of her dress and tugged, forcing her to yoyo back as he got up and grabbed her again.

“Gotta make everything difficult… including your criminal record now!” Amy folded her arms, huffing and puffing up her cheek in her scolding. “What? Being a goody-two-shoes suddenly doesn’t seem like the life anymore?!”

He never responded to her.

She once again summoned her hammer, ready to strike his head, but her eyes bent back in love and she looked to see another grenade launched at them.

With a surprised gasp, she hit it away as it exploded, and Sonic turned to see what she had done.

Finally, he did acknowledge her, grinning.

“Oh… OHHH!!! SHUT UP! Of course, I can’t help but still want you alive and well! Till death do us part, you idiot!” she let out her iconic cry and then threw her hammer at another guard, now attempting to slightly help in his escape. 

However, she remained stubborn and folded her arms again, pouting. “Don’t you think this means I support your new life choices, though, Sonic!”

“Thanks, Amy.”

That blew her back more than the whiplash of him making it all the way to Eggman’s secret hideout.

“I appreciate it.”

“Y…You appreciate what..? That you broke my heart? Hmph.” she looked away from him, but couldn’t help and blush.

Amy soon realized that Sonic wasn’t being mind-controlled or anything like that at all! Eggman had inserted a small micro-explosion-chip into each of Sonic’s friend’s necks. If Sonic didn’t do as he was told, he would lose them all.

“Sonic! This isn’t fair!”

“Fair?” Eggman howled in laughter. “If I was playing fair, I wouldn’t have threatened lives!”

The plan was completed, Eggman’s new airship launched itself, planning to take out G.U.N and the biggest military defenses around the globe. With them disabled, Eggman was assured he’d take over the world without much resistance.

“Boring, I know, but I’m feeling a little lucky today~ Who knows! Maybe someone will rise up to fight you, Sonic. Wouldn’t that be something! HOHOHO!!!”

With Eggman’s laugh, Sonic stepped into the robotizier.

“Sonic!” Amy cried out, having escaped her cell and rushed into the engine room where Eggman and Sonic were. “You can’t do this! I’d rather have my neck blown off than watch you suffer!”

Sonic then paused as the machine came down around him. “Amy! Look out!”

Amy was surprised by that response but turned to see Metal Sonic swiping a claw at her.

It seemed Eggman didn’t just want ONE Metal Sonic…

Darting out of the machine, Sonic nearly got to Amy before his claw nicked her cheek, and he threw him over with himself into the lava pit Eggman had installed from the waste the generating engine created.

Eggman, amazed by Sonic’s fearless act, peeked over the side to see if they had really been incinerated… but Amy swooped her hand down after Sonic, gripping him with two hands as Metal flew up back into the air.

“Sooooniiicc!!!”

He smiled up at her, a bit of sweat all over him, as though he really was faking being alright with everything.

“Why can’t you just trust us for once! Just once! Let us know what’s going on with you!”

His eyes softened to her.

“Even if we all die, it’s better than having to fight against our friend! I’m not giving up on you, Sonic The Hedgehog! You’ve never stolen anything in your life! It was always just given you. But for once! I’m asking something of you that you can’t possibly refuse!!!” She began to let go of one of her hands on his, trying to stop sliding down the cylinder engine and towards the lava pit.

Eggman stuffed popcorn into his face, curious to see how Amy was going to save herself AND SONIC from this predicament.

Metal Sonic went to attack but Eggman held up a hand. “Hold it. Dead or robotized, doesn’t really matter in the end. Now… does it?” he then went back to eating his popcorn. “So long as Sonic’s out of the way, my plans for world domination can’t be superseded. Let the girl have her final moments of recongition~” he chimed.

“You’re going to do exactly what you’re still doing! Risking your life for the ones you cherish!”

Sonic couldn’t help but be fixated on her.

She struggled, her arm beginning to falter as it stretched to keep them both from sliding off and plummeting to their molten deaths.

“But in return, you must give us the same right! The same right… to… fight… for you… Son…ic..! AHHHH!!!” she strained her head back, feeling for the last ounces of strength left in her as Sonic, amazed, watched her swing him up and cry out as he was returned back to the top of the cylinder, large, beam-like engine that scaled the entire length of the open room.

Eggman spit out his popcorn. His whole body lurched forward, mouth hung open as he wiped heat and steam from his eyes. “WHAT!? Im… Impossible!!!??!?!”

Amy smiled through heavy breaths… “I’m gonna marry you… but you have to be my hero… my darling… for me to say I do… ahh… hhaaa…. Sooon…ic…” she slowly released her grip.

Pulling out a wire meant for lowering ones self into a room to snatch expensive jewelry, Sonic grabbed her with his wire and reeled her up.

Metal Sonic looked outraged, but due to his programming, he just turned to Eggman with a loud roar of his engine.

“Oh, fine! Take them down!” Eggman waved it off, pulling away from the scene. “Just make sure they don’t get away!”

Sonic pulled Amy up by him, as though… disguising the hug of relief.

“They’ve stolen Shadow’s files.” Sonic moved her away seconds after the embrace, “He was gonna make an army of me, but like Shadow.”

“A… Project Sonic?” Amy’s head was boggled then, but they quickly had bigger issues to deal with, currently…

Metal Sonic flung down towards them, but like a renewed tag-team, they began to fight him.

Through the outside metal-coating of the launched airbase, Tails fired the X-Tornado and took out Metal Sonic, blasting through the hide and then taking him down in the process as he was fired several times down into the lava below… and melted just the same.

Knuckles tried to retrieve his Master Emerald but Rouge was a double-agent, hearing about Knuckles’s micro-explosion-chip, she wanted to protect everyone as well.

The twist left Sonic still walking into the robotizer… but Amy turned Rouge’s heart at the last second, and Shadow finally disabled the engine which in turn, turned off the power of the ship.

Eggman’s bluff came out real fast as Tails hacked his computers, revealing that all he told Sonic was a lie and that no one was going to die.

“Pfft! You’re really gonna believe I made that whole thing up in one night sitting with a coffee cup that reads ‘Greatest Supervillian of all time’? Oh come now, Sonic, be sensible unlike your friends here. You know what’s best for them, don’t you, old boy?”

“I’m threw with having my friends distrust me, Doc.” Sonic threw the utility belt down.

“But I did happen to steal something actually worth keeping.”

Eggman rolled his yes, groaning, “Friendship?” he knew he was already beat…

The gang, Shadow, Rouge, Knuckles, Tails, and Amy all stood behind Sonic.

Sonic held his chest up proudly… before shrugging.

“Nahhh! It was the codes for the death generator bomb you implanted just in case a scenario like this happened!” he pulled out the device and started typing it in, “Heh, bummer.” He made a face, then clicked it.

Eggman roared and howled in vigorous anger after Sonic, but the gang all made it out safely.

G.U.N still handcuffed Sonic, saying he was saying locked up till he paid for this crimes.

As he walked by his friends, he apologized to each of them… but only looked at Amy, and then walked on by.

“Ah… Hey! Hold on!” She charged up to block the prison keepers from taking him away, spreading her arms out fully.

“You… You’re just going to walk away like that..? Let them take you somewhere where we can’t find you?” Her eyes poured out heartbreak, but Sonic only wiggled a finger in his ear.

As though being ignored, she began to drop her arms, but Sonic looked to a guard who nodded and let him walk up to her.

“You know,” He whispered to her, eyeing the guards as he did so. “I distinctly remember a certain hedgehog detective who managed to find out my next move before anyone else did…”

She slowly raised her head.

“If that hedgehog could find me out and save my life all in one day… then there’s no place they can keep me without her knowing about it.” he winked, smirking.

Her whole being rose up with his challenge, and with the understanding of his faith in her to bust him out and make a plan to do so.

“Just you wait, Sonic.” She nodded, determined to not disappoint him. “Through sickness and in health.”

His smirk turned more into uncertainty, as though he wasn’t sure how to respond to that.

“And much longer than after death.” she put her hands behind her back and tilted her head cutely to him.

“Not death, Amy.” he spoke even quieter than before, that she had to lean forward and ask him again what he was mumbling. “Heh.” he smiled, giving her a bit of the Sonic charm as he whispered, for only her ears to hear…

“But not life, either.”

“Huh?” she didn’t seem to understand.

As he passed her, she heard a faint line cross the wind behind her…

                                              “We’re never truly apart.”

but not a month went by before G.U.N was broken into yet again in their snowy base camp where a group of rebel thieves stole Sonic from right under their long, pointy noses!

Rouge was so proud. But strangely… threatened by the new recruits too.

Knuckles still denies he ever did anything illegal in his life, especially thieving!

My Writing samples: (These are all females but I play males and NB characters too)

The lights flickered almost with intention as the sharp clicking of heels on linoleum floors approached the door slowly. Accompanied only by the hypnotic hum of the sputtering fluorescent lights and the sterile smell of alcohol. The sleek pounding of heels stopped right outside the metal door, the rustling of papers and the crinkle of a brown paper bag reached a peak as the door opened swiftly.

Walking through the door stood a woman of cold and commanding stature, her black eyes narrow like a predator; an arched eyebrow  practically leading her face towards the strapped up figure. The woman's black hair was tied back neatly and her glasses rested observantly on the bridge of her nose, as if already in position for her to look down on  someone. Her black nurses skirt and apron followed her every step inside the white room. She held a manila folder and a brown crinkled bag that smelled of raw meat and had little puddles of liquid  on the bottom, practically taunting a restrained girl in the far corner.

She laid the file and the bag down  on a small metal counter near the front of the room and swiftly grabbed a chair to sit behind the table. For a few moments she watched, like a snake stalking its prey. Her commanding presence and seemingly all seeing eyes stayed focused on Olivia, as she grabbed a pen and opened the Manila folder.

Another 2 minutes had gone by, yet she never spoke, only watched. After finishing up some carefully written observations she slid on a pair of Latex gloves, snapping them at her wrist, still eyeing the girl in the straps. She reached into the brown paper bag and squished a tender chicken breast in her hand,  the juice running down the glove and into the bag once more before pulling it out  and placing it on the end of a metal rod with a squish. She sighed and slowly hovered the meat towards Olivia's face.

"Go on, you must be starved..." *She said in a deep, whisper like voice, her stern attitude reflected in her commanding tone.*

Zoe walked down the residents hall, some of the lights sputtering out as she stepped beneath them. Her cheap gas station headphones blared wild drum solos and guitar riffs, loud with electricity. Only looking at the floor or the doors as she walked down the chaotic hallway, she sent a strange chill down the spine of anyone unfortunate enough to graze her shoulder. Her ripped, drawn over jeans were covered in strange scribbles, a language almost, looking ancient and old. 

As her combat red combat boots pounded the floor, she paid no mind to the odd looks from happy families moving their children in. Her tattered T-shirt and worn down clothing screamed "out of place" as she finally reached her room and slipped in through the door, her small suitcase of belongings following her inside. Zoe flicked on the lights and looked at her odd reflection in the mirror, the girl staring back felt unfamiliar, forgien almost, the sharp black and purple bob cut, the strange birthmark, it all felt like a mask she wore poorly.  

Zoe was always one to seem odd to outsiders, a quiet tall girl whose clothes were tattered and torn. Her gymnast-like figure was hidden behind her baggy mom jeans and an army jacket with unusual patches poorly sewn into it. After taking a breath to re-center herself and shake off that imposter-like feeling, she began to finally unpack her small bags.

 She never expected to be in a place like this, or even on a planet like this one.. but behind the cynical, deadpan girl sat a secret. Behind her tired adolescence sat a warrior, someone tasked by her ancestors to save the planet, maybe even the entire realm. This was the other side of Zoe, this side was dubbed Omen by the public. 

They all thought Omen was some kind of enhanced human, not a hero, not a villain, just someone who was always there, always watching. But Omen stuck to the shadows of the streets and in similar way, so did Zoe.

With a flick of a hand her suitcase opened wide and her eyes turned entirely black as strange mist emanated from them. In a matter of moments her small bag of belongs unpacked and swirled around her room like a controlled storm, each item of clothing folding itself or setting itself down nicely in a cabinet or on a desk. It was a beautiful, swirl of shadows, like spilled ink in water, and like a master puppeteer Zoe manipulated each string.

 As it slowed, her eyes returned to normal and she took a deep breath in, the lights flooding the room taking away from the effect of her abilities. She flopped into her chair and pulled out her inhaler from her purse, taking a deep breath and then letting it out. Maybe this whole College and hero thing was harder then she thought.

A beautifully sunny day soon turned sour, storm clouds gathered above the once clear skies of the field, rumbling with electricity. A bolt of lightening cracked through the clouds striking the open plains below, the impact warming the area with an array of heavenly light rather than a burning fire. From The sky above following the path of the bolt, fell a strange grey ball, tucked, spinning and falling fast. It hurled towards the ground, only picking up speed as it started to rush towards the treeline. Unknown to the unconscious Val, she was soon approaching the ground, her lifeless body hurling towards the earth.* 

“Wake UP!”

Shouted a booming voice in her head, causing the falling Valkyrie's eyes to shoot open accompanied by a startled yelp as she soon realized the predicament she was in. With the ground slowly approaching the young woman  unfolded her powerful wings and prayed to Odin that one strong flex would be enough to lessen the impact of her fall.  She flapped her wings, the dust of the ground rushing away from the might gust of wind, She frantically flapped and managed to slow to a hover mere inches above the ground. With a sigh of relief the Valkyrie  slowly lowered herself to the ground, her brow furrowing as she elegantly folded away her wings. After a few seconds of the original thrill passed the young woman burst out into a soft laughter, looking around the field for any recognizable landmarks.

“I’m 40 percent sure this I’ll work.” The young engineer chirped from behind her desk, her goggles still pressed to her face as sparks flew from her tinkering. “Only 40?”  The Jedi behind her called, she could practically feel the raised eyebrow from across the room. 

“Okay, Um… 100 percent sure it’ll  help you out, but only 40 percent that it’ll do what it’s intended to. That any better?” She called back, grabbing the small device and tossing it towards the Jedi.

“That’s impossible, how could you’ve already fixe-” “I didn’t, I said-” She interrupted in a sing songy voice. “40 percent sure it’ll give your saber a little boost, but if, and only if, it fails, then there is a 100 percent chance it’ll explode.”

Her comment was met with the wide, slightly angry eyes of the Jedi staring her down like a hawk ready to pounce, his breathing quickening like a panic “Just chuck it and run Jedi.” She smirked turning back to her table and turning an unnecessary generator on to avoid the oncoming barrage from the vexed Jedi.

A supervillain and a superhero are roommates, but they don't know each other's secrets.  They both live their little secret lives, but mostly I would want to focus on the out of costume dynamic. I tend to play villains but if needed I can flex to hero. OC X OC Genres: Comic Book/Slice of life (Sub cat- Young heroes)

Prompt 2: “A Whole New World?” Sirens, the  mythical half humans  from the sea and lakes were only supposed to be legend, but some legends ring true.. In this I'm looking for someone to play human, at least 18 or older. I'd rp as a merperson who saves your char from drowning after a night of partying at the beach. The plot I had in mind was rather Ariel-ish, but with a modern twist.  Like all other prompts if you have any ideas to bring to the table then dm me and we can chat! Prompt 4: “Jump to lightspeed” I’ve had some hopes of playing a star wars oc either with another oc or canon character. I was hoping to find someone to help plot this as well so we both get what we want from it! I’m down for any time period but I’d prefer, but it’s not a deal breaker if we work out the time periods that we like the most. PRE EMPIRE ( if you want to play a Jedi) CANON X OC OR OC X OC Genre/fandom: Star Wars Extras: Any time period will work but I’m looking for a sort of straight character like a Jedi/Mandalorian to pair with an excitable little energy ball.

 My oc: She is a little mechanic/inventor girl who gets way too excited to watch things blow up or when her crazy plans always somehow work out. I was hoping to have a more relaxed or even serious character play against her so they’d balance each other out, maybe a Jedi or Mandalorian.

Prompt 5: “Bringing down a God.” Your father was the CEO of Athena, the company that single handedly monetized the internet, while Athena's methods were shady you never gave your families success second thought until your computer was hacked by the infamous hacker Ghost. No one knew who their real identity they only knew one thing, Ghost was good- very good at their work.. The next morning you bumped into a dusty pink- haired classmate, observantly quiet the girl moved on with her day, but something about that interaction sent shivers down your spine...

Currently looking for someone to Play the child of the Athena CEO as I have a neat hacker character planned out. We can talk lore and world set up once in dms but I'm super excited about this one! So when you ran into them in the forest meditating with a strange green-ish glow around her like a halo you stopped dead in your tracks.The glimmering green glow and ribbons of brown and red leaves swirled around their head. Their typical monotone voice came out as a mix somber and harmonic hums. Their chants soon turned into small grunts of effort, causing smaller twigs and branches to orbit around them at increasing speed. The objects blended with the green glimmers, spinning around them in different directions. The scene built to an eerie climax, the energy seemingly rushed in towards them, leaving all the items it had swept up to fall sharply back into place. Their eyes were forced open and they took a gasping breath, the shock causing them to fall to the  grass bed below. Green magic sizzled out of them like a fried, overused electronic as they struggled to sit up, still attempting to catch their breath. Backing up you heard a crack crack, looking down at your feet you saw a twig snapped in half thanks to your hiking shoes. With a sharp twist they turned around, looked at you with wide fearful eyes and passed out..  OC X OC (TDLR- Witch X Human high school/college age) 

Genre: Slice of life with a hint of a fantastical twist Extras: The non witch character can be anything really, Human, Lycan etc. But I’d rather play a human X a witch and I’d be happy to play either role. Prompt 7:”Steal your heart.” Locked in your tower you felt safe from the bandits, your father the king, made sure you and your siblings were well protected, educated and trained in magic. One night, it almost all fell, you saw a hooded figure down the hall after peaking out of curiosity ~~`even after your father told you to hide.~~ You saw that symbol, the bear under the golden star on the figured cloak, it was the thieves guild.. Footsteps approached your door before it swung open, a perfect copy of your father reaching his hand out finally saying it was okay to come out. He said you had go flee into the families safe, as it was the safest place in the castle. Something about him felt **off** and the figure looked at you, not with stern love in his eyes like your fathers but with a certain hunger reserved for thieves and stalkers of the night. The figure’s confidence started to shatter, slowly dropping the disguise, his clothing changing into the green and brown rouge suits of the thieves, a hood over their face. “Not so easily fooled, I like you (Prince/Princess/NB-Royal), maybe I’ll get you next time…” You could only see a cheshire like smirk before the figures form turned into a little black crow and flew out the window. OC X OC (TDLR- Shapeshifter leader of the kingdoms band of Thieves X Magical Royal/ next in line for the throne **OR** a castle guard. Genre: High Fantasy

Extras: Looking for a sort of cheeky vibe Like Aladin and the guards, something where both of out chras have a strange internal conflict about the situation after learning each other's secrets. I love my lil shapeshifter boi and I miss playing them. Prompt 8: “Ghost down the hall.”

The apartment next door had been empty of ages, that’s what the landlord said at least, but on some nights the door rattled and lights flashed into the hallway. One morning  someone walked straight through the door. (TD-LR) Ghost X Human who just learned they could see said ghost Genre: Slice of life/Fantasy/Platonic Extra- Im down to play whichever char and I would like to brainstorm with my partner on this one as it is a bit more personal. I can see this one turning into a small group dm of about 2-4 if my partner is open to that, if not then we can Multi-RP. OC X OC (X OC) Prompt 9: “In the arms of the ocean.” Much like prompt number 2 this prompt involves a  Human (Pirate of any gender) and a Siren (of any gender ) Who become friends/lovers/enemies (whatever we want. I would like to brainstorm with my partner on this one but I’m super excited about it. OC X OC Genre: Historical Fiction/Fantasy Extra: I would be down for playing either character so if you have a preference, just let me know when you dm me. Prompt 10: “Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?” It was supposed to be easy for the angel, just go down, make sure hell hadn’t taken any extra souls. The angel carefully set themselves down at the entrance of the first circle of hell, then saw them, a demon.. (Basically Angel meets demon, one falls for the other) (please note this was a 3am idea but I just wanted to write it down and maybe expand upon it later) OC x OC Genre: Romantic/Fantasy/Modern- Bickering lovers, I can see this prompt going multiple ways so it’s something we should discuss in dms. Extra: Bonus points if in dms we can work out a way to get them to the human world and looking human. Again 3am thought, might come back and amend this portion.

Prompt 11: Beautiful creature

"They were brought here for a reason.... some of them didn't understand how to control their power, some of them were  skilled, but made frightening choices.... but all that mattered to Blake was that they were safe... or  the world is safe from them and It was her mission to figure out what made each and every one of them tick..."

The mansion was hidden deep within the Canadian woods, but on the inside it felt more like a prison. Madame Blake ran a tight lab. They were brought there because they possessed some ability, some power that frightened the normal world. So they were locked up, but the rusted metal bars on the room didn't feel like a cage, it felt like home. And no matter how many times Blake prodded and poked them , she was still their mother.... in a strange twisted sense..

From the moment they arrived they were being fashioned into something, something destructive... well they have always seen government officials around, maybe that was their  purpose. Blake was always pushing them  to their limits, breaking them from the inside and out, pitting them  up against each other in the basement, but still preaching that they were teammates, family. Some of them have gone on missions, against their will of course, not much to fight over when there is a bomb in their neck... but she still preached she loved them, that she understood them. Despite all the horrible things they've been put through some small part of them  still called it home...

After years of secrecy some of the children managed to escape and tell their stories, showing the world what they could really do. Some feared them, some hated them, some took pity, and you can choose how your char feels about these genetic anomalies but, one just saved your characters life and is now asking for help integrating into society....  OC X OC
