Not long ago, a follower wrote to me, alarmed, believing he'd found an adult story where the librarian with my first name seemed to be more than just a coincidence. I had to explain that I'd been warned about it and that it wasn't a problem for me. Today, I'm rewriting those words in my DMs so I have a reference to send if the situation repeats itself.
An awkward question: sexy stories about me
I know it might seem strange, but I'm not offended that these fictional stories are written about me. As fiction, it's not something I'm doing to myself. In fact, being the inspiration for a sensual story is flattering; it speaks well of my blogs, or whatever… but I don't mind fanfiction (a modern quasi-genre of literature) written "because of me." Some authors take on the challenge of offering something of a certain quality (remember, I've led writing workshops for high school students; I can be demanding). For others, the challenge is confessing, asking permission beforehand, or revealing to me afterward that the girl in their lively, passionate story was me in their minds. These inhibitions they might have (or that I might have for seeing myself reflected that way) should matter less than people who don't consider themselves artists daring to create.
I'm not responsible for, nor do I owe anything for, the image other people might have of me in their minds (or for what they do with that idea alone), something I found myself explaining in many recent Ask posts [it was around 2024]. I try not to encourage it, but my discretion or my appreciation for my privacy sometimes fuels it, making them see me as mysterious or fascinating when I'm just prosaic and cautious. Others fill in the gaps with their imagination so that the resulting mental image is tailored to their preferences (both the ones they'll admit to and the ones they won't). So, in addition to what I've already mentioned, which isn't real because it's fiction, I sometimes find it hard to recognize myself in what they've written about me. It's strange, but it's not like they write fanfiction very often.
I always appreciate, share, or link to stories, poems, or anything else inspired by me, or by whatever else comes up. I'm not worried about what others think of me for it, and I don't do it out of ego. I do it for their artistic souls, crushed by a life where they aren't allowed to create simply for pleasure, in a view of the artist as merely a monetized profession. Here on Tumblr, they're practically anonymous if they want, and there's tolerance, however strange their desire to express may be. I wouldn't even know about it if they didn't tell me. Sometimes I think what they're looking for is an excuse not to do it, letting themselves be held back by their shyness about creating and accepting the challenge of stepping outside their comfort zone. So I always encourage them and acknowledge the work they do, even by disagreeing with them. Who knows, maybe this is part of the first steps of a great writer!

I don't design games, but I find some of this very useful as a creator of various other stripes.
In addition to some more technical matters, this talk goes into the thematic focus of the game, into Guerrilla Games' approach to creating the various people groups of Horizon Zero Dawn, and into principles of collaboratively creative workflow. There's also a lot of concept art, including npc costumes from different tribes.
This might especially be useful to fanfic writers who want new insights or ways of thinking about Horizon's themes and tribes!
You don't know what you don't know—so how can you know?
When I started writing, I didn't know what a good environment would look like. So I didn't overthink it. I just started, iterated, and each version taught me what I actually wanted.
This is how you find a good solution when you don't know what that even looks like.

Logitech is expanding its MX lineup into a broader “ecosystem” aimed at creative and productivity workflows. Alongside its existing keyboards and mice, the company is introducing a new console-style controller designed to work with apps like Microsoft Office, Slack, and Notion.
The idea is to give users more direct, customizable controls for common tasks, using dials, buttons, and plugins that integrate with different software tools. This setup is meant to streamline repetitive actions and make switching between apps feel more fluid.
Logitech is also leaning into software support, offering plugins and customization options so users can tailor the system to their own workflow. It’s a push to turn individual accessories into something more interconnected and purpose-built for work.
My Thoughts:
It kind of feels like turning your desk into a mini control panel, which is either overkill or exactly what some people have been wanting.
