Kentucky Brass Quintet Begins SEC Performance Circuit

Higher education research is often synonymous with the STEM disciplines, and it conjures up images of goggles, test tubes, lectures, and long equations. For the University of Kentucky Faculty Brass Quintet, those equations are replaced by sheet music – and conference lectures are replaced by recitals.

As SEC Faculty Travel Program participants, the UK Brass Quintet is sharing its sound with other SEC universities in a series of recitals and classroom teaching experiences. This semester, it will perform at the University of Alabama, the University of Arkansas, the University of Georgia, and LSU.

Okay so we are preparing my 5 year old for kindergarten! However I have put off the hassle of teaching him to tie his shoes and instead just buying the strap shoes. Buttttt he is picking out his own shoes now and is wanting laced shoes and asking to learn how to tie laces. So since I can’t be a lazy mom any more 🤷🏾‍♀️ I created a lacing board for him. I traced his shoes on to cardboard and colored paper. Laminated the paper. Poked holes. Laced it with one of dad’s old laced that I cut in half. Then hot glued it together. This could have been so much easier than it was had I not been using toddler scissors (the grown up ones have magically disappeared) and had I used a single hole puncher instead of a knife. But still came out pretty great and used his favorite colors. We will do some work with them tomorrow and I will update with new pictures. Sometimes we want to do a lot but cant do anything...at that time we should leave things and wait for them to sort out themselves....

Sometimes things need more time....

But you know what things just take time....we should not feel depressed or lose our hope cuz...taking time never means that everything is over....we should wait..and if you have faith and belief..there's nothing which can stop you from getting the thing you want .....

Guys life is very long and beautiful and we are really lucky that we got a chance to be a part of this world...guys I know everything is not perfect and good but I believe that at least we must try to see everything in a positive way...cuz negativity and imperfection is everywhere but the one who see it in a different way..lives a very happy life...

We are the only one who can decide what to do and what not to do in our life...we are the only one who know how to make our life better...

But remember no one is bad cuz we all have got the same life and same heart but it matters how we have made ourselves... and if you actually thinks that you are on wrong way then i believe that no one but you can only help in changing yourself......

Found this awesome germ hand sanitizer on Pinterest and turned it to an activity! I made the germitizer with glitter and hand sanitizer. Then had each of the kids rub it all over their hands. On the table was a variety of methods used to clean hands. We first tried to clean our hands with tissue. No help at all. Then we tried to clean our hands with paper towel, a little bit of glitter cane off but not much. Then baby wipes which collected lots of glitter but our hands were still covered. So we tried hand sanitizer and all that did was move the germs around. So we finally washed our hands with soap and water scrubbing between the fingers for a total of 20 seconds while singing a hand washing song. Guess what! Hands were all clean.
