She got very smart about overlapping THREE niches, and combined the publisher’s efforts with her own, including giving away a TON of books! 🖍 Meanwhile, I’m still climbing the mountain of this visual notes thing, and it feels like it’s getting harder, not easier. 🖍 I remember this sensation from when I was a dancer, when I started out learning calligraphy, when I was learning to sing jazz: one day you might have a success, and feel like you’ve made improvement, but then the next day it feels like you’ve slid back to where you started. 🖍 2 steps forward, 1 step back. Or maybe 1 step forward, 2 steps back! That’s what it feels like! It’s the name of the game when learning a new skill. 🖍 I just remind myself that this is part of the process. In fact, I’m not *really* backsliding. There will *always* be good days and bad days, stronger efforts and weaker ones. The point is to pay attention to what I need to work on (ahem—paying better attention is a good place to start!
