an important part of building credibility with yourself is setting goals you can actually achieve, especially if you're struggling. if you feel stuck in the loop of "I never do the things I tell myself I'm going to do", start even smaller. pick something you really know you can do, and reframe that as a goal. literally something as small as "have cereal for breakfast". put it on your to-do list. check it off.
it's not about the size of the goal. it's about teaching yourself that you can do the things you say you can. start with breakfast. build up to picking up five things from the floor of your room. build up to cleaning your whole room. eventually your credibility with yourself will get to job applications and essays and other things, but it doesn't have to start there. it starts where you are. you have to meet yourself there and walk forward together.
