“you’re not gonna change your mind about this, are you?” finnick can’t help his small smile. he runs his hand down the side of the fishing boat, fingers snagging a little in the unvarnished and rough wood. he half uses the boat to stand as well, his legs and body still a bit shaky and weak; it’ll be another few days before he’s back to normal – his normal, whatever that is – after his most recent stay in the capitol. “it’ll be a lot of work, getting this thing seaworthy. you sure you’re up to it?” it means the world to him, annie wanting to buy the boat for the two of them, even though he’s careful not to show it. finnick has always wanted his own boat; but it’s bad luck to fish alone, and nobody would have partnered with him before now -- no one besides annie, who’s already his partner in everything anyway.
