        i revamped my finn a couple weeks ago,  &&  my activity has fluctuated so much in just that small amount of time, but ya’ll have been so awesome  &  supportive already,  &&  you’ve indulged my crazy headcanons  &  selective writing with all the patience of saints   &  princesses.  so this is a post to thank ya’ll!  i love each  &  every follower on this blog, but these few people are gorgeous friendships i adore on this blog  &  many others!  whoops on me if i forgot anybody!

             small feet dig into the white sand underneath his toes, the CHILL of the early morning BEACH cooling finn’s bare feet as he buries them deeper in the shoreline. he digs a small conch shell out, KNEELING to pluck it up & place it in his satchel. he hasn’t collected SHELLS for his mother in months -- not since they sent him to TRAIN with mags six days a week -- but it’s a habit he can’t seem to break. mags likes them, anyway, so they won’t go to WASTE.   ❛ you sure we can’t train today?? i’m not tired. ❜   mags STAGGERS their training sometimes. finnick thinks it’s nice  ( sometimes he really is too tired ),  but his FATHER found out once & didn’t like it because if finnick isn’t really training mags is just giving them money, && that’s CHARITY -- something aurelius odair never accepts.

          it’s small wonder he’s still up, legs stretched over the wooden           edge of the porch, eyes distant and glum. there are things           thoughts piercing through the shroud of s a n i t y, tearing at           the things that hurt the most. when finnick sees her, he           doesn’t smile. he can’t. but he knows she’d understand.

~ Annie yawned, sitting on the bed, breakfast laid out on her bedside tabe.

“You didn’t have to do this, Mags.” Annie says, looking over at the kind woman.

“Really. I’m okay, I can make my own breakfast.” She blushes gently.~

It was the beauty of the moment itself, which had brought Annie's amusement to an abrupt halt, the joy fading from her face, as it evoked memories of a time lost long ago. Still - it seemed like yesterday, since she had sat on her mother's lap, giggling about her own silliness, snuggling against her chest and inhaling her familiar scent. Looking back, Annie wished she had told her more often how much she had loved her. As a little girl, growing up without parents, she often wondered if they had known just how much they meant to their only daughter, who was no a motherless child in a cruel world. So sitting with Mags, the woman who had become like a second mother to Annie over the years, the sudden need for expressing her love was burning on her heart. You never knew, when it could be too late. People always left, one way or another. "I'm glad you do. Because that's important."

Be a good girl while you're with Mags, I'll pick you up after work. Love you, sweetheart.

Hazel repeated her daddy’s words in her head as she watched his car pull away. She missed him already but then she looked at her grandma and smiled. It was okay. She was with her grandma!

She had met her grandma before but only once. But she had been really nice.

And she adopted my daddy Finnick. Like he adopted me. She thought. She had chosen him like her daddy had chosen her.

She smiled up at her grandma. “I’m glad my daddy chose me like you chose him. He made my wish come true.” She’d made a wish to be loved when she’d been living with her mommy and old daddy. They hadn’t made it come true. But her daddy Finnick had.
