Cable Channel Hyping the Shit Out of Reruns of 'Rizzoli & Isles'
Having recently acquired the rights to reruns of the show, cable channel 5USA has gone all out promoting the fact they are now showing the crime procedural 'Rizzoli & Isles', which ended its original run in 2016.
An explosion of publicity followed the channel's announcement they will be showing 'Rizzoli & Isles' in the prime 8pm slot, including a high-budget promo shown in every commercial break, countdowns to the next episode always being on screen, a social media campaign and will soon launch a competition where one lucky viewer will win a weekend in Boston, the city where the 'Rizzoli & Isles' is set.
More from the Department of Before They Were Star Trek Stars: George Takei in PERRY MASON, season three, episode four, "The Case of the Blushing Pearls" (original air date October 24, 1959).
George plays Toma Sakai, a friend and co-worker of Perry's client, a Japanese immigrant framed for the theft of a valuable piece of jewelry.
New Bridgerton AU I cooked up before midterms: Bridgey spouses and company are part of the Danbury Investigatorial League
I watch way too much B99, CSI, and most recently Bones so I love the group dynamics of a bunch of geniuses and nerds that are also deeply stupid so this was born. Keep in mind I don't actually know how private Investigation firms work but this is a guess and I refuse to make them into cops ACAB always
So the cast is of CAPTAIN AGATHA DANBURY, Edwina (rookie detective), Kate (Agatha's mentee), Penelope (Agatha's assistant), Genevieve (fabrics and materials expert), Phillip (expert in botany and all poison related), Sophie (informant turned linguistics expert), Lucy (future college student/intern bc she's not in the au yet), Simon (former financier and investor turned finance expert), and Michaela Stirling (field detective), all work in different departments for hire and usually once a year a Bridgerton gets involved but the point is Bridgertons are NOT the star of this show. It's a crime procedural baby and these weirdoes are the stars.
Can't believe the first part i wrote was like 3 years into the au and it's a Halloween heist
Movie Review: Anatomy of a Fall 2023. High-tension procedural.
What a thought-provoking story. Despite Sandra being unlikeable and Samuel being pathetic, I could empathize with both. And the ending could have gone either ways. Either Sandra is guilty and a lying psychopath, or innocent and an unfortunate victim of circumstance.
I especially empathized with Sandra’s writer need to over-explain things, to establish certain beats, literally beating around the bush before getting to the punchline. Her need to setup her points ironically makes her look more guilty, more defensive, resulting in a suspect, unlikeable character. Did you find Sandra unlikeable?
I really enjoyed the tension. Good pacing and reveals.
Anatomy of a Fall (French: Anatomie d'une chute) is a 2023 French legal drama thriller film, directed by Justine Triet from a screenplay she co-wrote with Arthur Harari. It stars Sandra Hüller.
Bones, created by Hart Hanson and loosely based on Kathy Reichs’ books
Category: American crime/forensics procedural, comedy, drama. I’d say 15+ (gore, drugs, sex, alcohol, obviously lots of death, tackles a lot of difficult concepts like suicide, mental health, addiction, government corruption etc)
Brief thoughts and description: Yet another American Crime Procedural, except one of the only ones I’ve ever come across where every single recurring character is written and then developed perfectly. It somehow manages to be 12 seasons long, and not get boring or stretched out. Romances between main characters are written well and make total sense, and any extreme actions that the characters take are somehow both entertaining (in that they aren’t super predictable), and make sense to the viewer in terms of character development. Any plot twists are well written and make sense narratively, when you look back on previous episodes.
Based on the professional (and developing personal) relationship between an FBI agent (Seeley Booth, played by David Boreanaz) and the forensic anthropologist (Temperance Brennan, played by Emily Deschanel) he’s paired with. They are almost complete polar opposites: Booth is a through and through Catholic, Brennan is 100% Atheist, Booth is good at reading people and understanding emotion, Brennan is very anti-social (to start with) but is an incredible scientist. The other main characters mostly consist of Brennan’s forensics team at the Jeffersonion and all of them are valuable and add to the plot in varied ways. Big “found family” vibes.
I really can’t rave about this show enough. I’ve no idea if the science is accurate, but it’s interesting and easy to understand, and it is very special and rare in that any romantic sub plots are well thought out and deserving of time in the show, and not just shoe-horned in for ratings.
(Hopefully by this point you’ve finished two seasons of ‘The Rookie’, the kind of person who isn’t bothered by spoilers, or are just deciding if you still want to keep watching.)
