SEND "What?!" FOR MY MUSE'S REACTION TO YOURS BLURTING OUT "I LOVE YOU" IN THE MIDDLE OF AN ARGUMENT.
▌» ◉ They were arguing again. Nothing new there. It echoed throughout the office, leaving everyone else covering their ears as Dan and Gavin shouted at each other, their voices getting louder and louder. Then there was dead silence, and everyone let out a sigh of relief.
But Dan didn't. Instead, his chest rose and fell heavily as he stared at the redfaced Brit in front of them. Both of them breathing heavily from the shotuing, and redfaced from the energy it took. Though Dan suspected Gavin's face was red for a different reason. And the soldier's eyes narrowed at his once best friend, before pulling up his fist, pulling it back, preparing to punch the other.
But he didn't. He saw Gavin flinch and he lowered his hand slowly, before turning and ran out, feeling his heart burst with anger and sorrow in his chest, The raw emotion made it's way to the surface as he came to a stop, locking himself in a room and punched the wall. He punched, kicked, and screamed his frustration out until his voice was hoarse, sinking down to his knees. The tears came next, and Dan made no attempt to wipe them away.
Gavin was his best friend. His B. Then they drifted so far apart to where they were almost enemies. Dan hated Gavin's guts. But even now, as he sat here on his knees, he felt regret. He hated himself for seeing the way Gavin flinched when he prepared to punch him. There was a time where Gavin would flinch playfully, but now it was from fear. Gavin's words echoed in his mind, the three simple words ringing throughout his ears. 'I love you, I love you, I love you.'
And for the first time in forever, Dan let his walls down. He let his walls down, and he cried.
