I look both ways once
I look both ways the whole time I cross (head on a swivel)
I check both ways a few times before/while walking
I start crossing then check both ways

Yes, dirt roads in the countryside count. I should've added an answer for "I check but only when ppl who want me to are around" but w/ all the variations of "I dont" there wasn't enough.
