new moon scrying or happy monday imaginary constructs

yesterday, i long rambled the mushroom path, ate this-plate-is-very-hot fajitas, read a book about nantucket basket weaving practices, and then boba and i saved the world. it was a good day

last night i dreamt i was living in a rambling old share house, like the one where uma lived in sydämen koti. we were having an open house, an art show, a huge party, and in the middle of it i found my grandmother, my short, round, finnish lake witch grandma, not my tall, angular, adirondack mountain witch grandma. she had moved into the small room, an old cupboard, off of the kitchen. i got to hug her and walk her through the house, showing her all the lovely people and all the lovely things. the crowds of guests parted as we walked through, everyone taking extra care not to jostle the old lady. i don't dream about her often, once a year maybe, but it's always so nice when i do. i could still feel the hug when i woke up.

manifestations of my familiar or the ceramic demon pig, made by the dead german man as a child, is damaged, but i don't have the right kind of glue. i thought i had enough foraged beads to make a witch's ladder, it takes about year, but i laid it out and at least one is still missing, they will have to stay in their old furikake jar a bit longer

almost overnight, the temperatures dropped fifty degrees here. i know i live in a very mild climate, but i love the days of long shadows. i wouldn't wish them away for anything

boba thinks the possum needs help, girl. she thinks she friends with the racoon. she thinks she's one of the crows

in the last few weeks, i made a bunch of baked cabbage with great northern beans, a big pot of turnip greens with field peas, and i'm just about to dry fry collards and black beans for tacos

my dreams got a new director of photography and the changed aesthetic is disorienting. i dreamt that i lived in an island mansion accessible only by a causeway that never fully emerges from the water, even at low tide. i dreamt i lived in a floating glass tower in some golden age science fiction future. i dreamt i was back at the place i worked when i was nineteen

tomorrow will be a quiet night for me. i've never had good luck with that one. thursday though, i'll hike up stone mountain in the dark with my kids and we'll watch the first sunrise together, and that will be good

witches' ladders

today, i slept as late as i ever sleep. i ate big breakfast with the punks at finn's place. fallie cooked us all delicious eggs and we all had so many laughs together. i took a long nap on the couch, found a phrase that i'm saving, and played and scribbled while my dream brain was not yet faded. it's been a really good day

yesterday, i ate a fried chicken and sautéed collards sammie on a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese

i rewatched trois couleurs: bleu for the dozenth time

i discarded a broken toy

i slept, soundly, with windows open and dreamt that i was painting in an old train car that shook from the wind

last night i dreamt that my skin was covered in a leopard print pattern of raised white scars or the clovis limit
