Joker wheezed and giggled as he ran off, still followed by Batman.
It's one of the better winters Gotham has gotten in the last few years. The streets were empty, everyone was home with their loved ones, or working in one of those cold-hearted, unfeeling places, the ones who let their employees work holidays, the malls, shops, markets, the salons, the restaurants. The corporate places.
But Joker couldn't give a flying fuck, nor did Batman. Joker didn't celebrate holidays, not in the traditional sense anyway. Bruce was part of the reason why everything had become so corporate, plus Batman had vigalantism to do, no time for celabrating.
Joker hopped from one building to another, jumping from a rooftop to a different one, his dress-shoes leaving imprints in the snow. His cinnamon colored scarf flowed freely in the wind and his red pom-pom beanie somehow didn't fall off.
He looked to be having so much fun Bruce almost forgot why he was chasing him, not that he even had a good reason. Joker escaped Arkham. That's all. But he's still a wanted criminal and in need of an asylum, so Batman had to keep running after that clown.
Joker stopped at a "dead end," and giggled, turning to face Bruce with a smile that just made Batman want to come closer, it made him look quite cute, very mischievous though, the smile.
Bruce breathed in and narrowed his eyes, slowly making his way closer to Joker. He took cautious steps towards him, letting his feet sink in the snow, making a crunch half of the time.
When Batman was pretty close to the clown, three or four feet, he stopped, and as he was about to speak, he noticed Joker had a hand behind his back, pulling something out, and all of his attention went to that, like a cat.
Joker smiled, holding back a grin at how quick and easy it was to get Bruce's attention where he wanted it. He, as fast as he could, brought the thing above the both of them.
A mistletoe.
Bruce froze, just looking at it for a second or maybe ten. His breath caught in his throat and he felt his ears warm up.
"C'mon, Batsy, it's tradition, y'know?"
Batman finally looked back down from the mistletoe, gazing into his spruce green eyes and taking note of the pupils dilation. He tried to take a breath, to think clearer, but the Jokers face kept distracting him, so patient, so smiley, so... in the Christmas spirit. To me honest, Batman hasn't heard about or seen the clown commit any real crimes, no other than escaping Akrham.
For a second he forgot there even was a mistletoe, or that the clown was waiting. When he remembered he felt his hands sweat and his cheeks grow crimson, both protected from view, hands in gloves, face behind a cowl. He needed to, had to, think about it, but it's been about half a minute and Joker was still waiting, for a kiss or a punch. Not that he'd care, isn't he like a masochist? Sadomasochist? Something like that.
Bruce felt his heart beat grow faster amd he didn't know why. No wait, it was the subtle chuckle from the clown. Obviously Joker knew what was happening, Bruce wasn't exactly hiding it and if he was he was doing a terrible job at it.
"Well~?"
Bruce felt a tingle run down his back and his eyes couldn't help themselves but to flicker down at the others lips.
He leaned it.
And gave only a peck, but that was enough in Jokers book, plus the dazed look on Bruce was adorable.
"See? Wasn't that bad, Batty."
Bruce had to calm his heart from leaping, and he let out a small "Hrn" in response, which Joker didn't mind. The Bat didn't speak much or often, so what'd he expect?
Joker lowered the his arms and threw the mistletoe off somewhere, probably down into the street. He took a second to look at his hands. He'd forgotten his gloves, his pale fingers had a rosewood tint to them because of that. He rubbed them together for a bit of warmth.
Bruce shook his head to get out of his trance and took a step towards Joker to be even closer, feeling a want to help. Without much thinking, why would he, he took the others hands in his gloves, but when he actually thought, he let go and wrapped the clown up with his cape, which was much better than the leather gloves.
Joker laughed at the action and leaned his head closer to Bruce, their noses touching. He grinned as he could see more clearly the blush beneath the cowl.
"Behind all that Kevlar and frowning, you really are just a softie, arencha~"
"Shut up."

No beta we die like Jason Todd. I don't really edit much, usually just skim through and fix any spelling mistakes I can find.
I'm not a professional at anything, but I've been writing for a time(about as much as I've been drawing) so I don't think I'm bad at it. If you have something bad to say, don't. If you have any advice, please do, I'd like to know what people like to read so I can maybe incorporate it in my writing.
I'm trying to find me a writing style(?) so I'm experimenting with stuff.
This is like how I 'usually' write ig. My normal writing is descriptive of what's happening mostly, the narration sometimes mixes with the characters thoughts, and dialogue is either the whole thing or a really small part of it, same with surrounding desrciptions. I like to write in the past sense for some reason.
Aso thinking of writing a some Jason x Jesus stuff soon/sometime cuz there is literally nothing of it out there
