i can mats little boy not liking his newborn sister that much because he's so used the having his mom and dad all to himself so he doesn't want to share and mat does that really dumb laugh of his when he throws his head back while you glare at him because he woke the baby up and your son just shushes him because he woke her up.
or your little boy hearing his sister cry from her crib and going to check on her while trying to give her his favorite stuffed animal and you come into the babys room asking why he's out of bed and he responds with " you and daddy are really tired so i wanted to help" and you melt. you feed babygirl and decided to bring her back to bed with and your little boy sprints to your bedroom because he's excited that he gets to sleep in the big bed with his parents.
he sprints into the room and jumps on mat telling him that he helped his little sister stop crying and how he nearly gave her his stuffed animal and mat who just got back from a long road trip and is very tired just listens and looks at his little boy with so much love because it reminds him of how he was with his younger sisters when they were kids.
omggg yes, you would have to always reassure him you two love him just the same and now the love is even bigger considering there’s an addition to the family, but I can totally see baby boy barzal kinda jealous but them all in love and protective over his lil sister.
HIM TRYING TO SOOTHE HER THO- I’M CRYING I- absolutely- can you imagine she falls asleep first and he’s laying on top of mat looking curiously at her sleeping form on your arms and he goes “she doesn’t look that ugly anymore, mom, now she’s looking cute” and mat laughs along with you because the first time your baby boy saw his little sister he was like “she’s weird, mommy, and she’s too small”. Mat would definitely knows how to deal with this situation considering he lived it with his sister too, so he always knew what to say and how to soothe your baby boy and make him understand that his sister was there to bring more love to the family, not to take his spot and when he finally understood this he would always -and I mean always- want to be around her, everything he did he wanted his lil sister to be around, he even asked if she could go to pre school with him and you almost cried because this love was so pure and it was your little family, the most important thing in your life.
