Bruce taking advantage of his omega secondary gender while being Brucie
Like he is that stereotype of flirty yet playful omega
The thing is he doesn’t even need to act, people see an omega and assume he is weak and kinda dumb
It’s a hell being alphasplain all the time but eh he can work with that kind of deception, if people thinks he really is a dumb flirty omega then he won’t stop their mouths, he will continue with his life, only feeding the stereotypes at parties or when he wants to troll people
But as Batman he tried really hard to appear like he is an alpha, it’s not like he doesn’t like being an omega but in society it’s more likely they would respect and fear an alpha than an omega
So he trains hard to withstand pheromones, create scent blockers special for him, so when he sweats it doesn’t smells like his usual omega sweet pheromones, he use some padding to appear bigger because no matter how much he train, his constitution can only do so much
Ofc he is big but he aims to giant, using big boots that adds height, shoulder pads that with the cape makes the illusion he streaks to
The thing is when he joined the Justice League he thought it was appropriate at the time to say he was an alpha
And now he is suffering
Being part of a herd of any team is scenting so they can smell the same and feel at home and protected near the pack. It’s a fundamental bonding process, aiming to gain trust and regulate internal functions like hormones
But the process and roles of each secondary gender varies during nesting and scenting so ofc he can’t join in the center as an omega and being scented by all the alphas
He always take the sidelines of protecting the nest, never the role of scenting other omegas since well he can’t do it exactly
Ofc the league notices but they just assume is the bat being bat, like it’s hard to imagine him in the cuddle pile no matter how important this type of stuff are important for bonding of the pack and recognition of each other through scents in the battle
So Bruce doesn’t get to be scented or nested like when he adopted each one of his kids, there’s always this adjusting period of mourning their past life and “I’m still getting to know you” so since at the beginning they didn’t nest, they grew without doing it or incorporating it as part of their routine, they aren’t babies and Bruce is old, they get scents from stealing Bruce shirts and stuff if needed but overall it’s not a tradition or anything
It would be ok except that Bruce grew up without them
Even though Dick and Bruce got orphaned around the same age, Dick did had someone to rely on, if he wanted cuddles he got them, he got Bruce scent from his bed or his clothes or spending too much time with each other
But Alfred didn’t have Bruce that kind of consolation, he was also grieving with Bruce, he was cold, even tho he expressed his loved using other methods, nesting or cuddling wasn’t one of them
So growing up with this level of touch starve really pushed him through self destructive behaviors, even if they are passive, not bothering much with his life
The only times people approached him was when he was Brucie Wayne, it was so confusing, people seeing this ‘dumb’ omega and deciding to have a bit of him
Bruce knew how people perceive him, how no one really loves him or sees him beyond a nice face, yet it was intoxicating yet so disgusting
How can someone be comfortable yearning for something that makes you feel so ill? Yet when he receives it, it never feels satisfactory
The stress starts to be obvious, turning from simply someone serious to a paranoid boy, twitching at everything, being restless, looking around constantly, and that was only with the suit, without it Bruce nails are bleeding at how much he picks on them, he get tummy aches and always look on the verge of collapsing
When Superman and Wonder Woman noticed they tried to drag Bruce into the nest, but ofc Alfa methods doesn’t work on omegas
At the end Bruce is force to confess. Something that seem so insignificant at the beginning now it’s changing everything. He never stopped to think what being an omega would make people treat him different, not only during nesting, getting used to a role he never played but also among them
As if just this simple fact change everything when for Bruce it was nothing
His quality of life did got better, he is more calm, the hormones doesn’t made him as moody and dont feel that much in pain
But there’s times where he is hanging around someone in the league where they suddenly change their behavior slightly, not out of malice but as if suddenly remembering they aren’t talking with an alpha, they hold back
It started out as kind of a joke but now I'm completely serious when I say my gender is cryptid. My pronouns are unknowable. Do not refer to me unless you're making wild claims that no one can confirm or deny.
