A friend of mine lives in Western Australia and one of her friends has just,,,, a pet kangaroo. In her part of Australia it’s legal as long as you have a license so?? Kangaroo. Apparently they’re surprisingly friendly, not particularly soft, and leave marks all over the wood floor

I guess some of them only look like they could kill you. Also I love the concept of a kangaroo petting license. You can pet the bouncy hairy humanoid thing but you have to ask the government nicely first

Why do you hate kill the moon? I’m just curious

i should clarify i do not hate doctor who eps, they’re all ridiculous and i have a lot of love for them!! i would genuinely enjoy watching it, but it’s just kinda one of my least favorites, not one i don’t actually like

kill the moon basically said “this isn’t future science being indistinguishable from magic, this is Now Science Being Wrong” which is very different. “the moon is gaining mass” “the creature lays an egg that is the same size for some reason” is very different from “idk ten somehow used the Power Of Thought to Levitate, just accept it, they used Future Tech”

genuinely i’d appreciate kill the moon much more if, sometime later in the series, they had a character osgood be like “hey i work at nasa. WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT, WE HAD TO THROW OUT THE GIANT-IMPACT HYPOTHESIS, RIP THEIA/ORPHEUS, WE HAVE TO COMPLETELY REANALYZE AND MAP THE MOON’S GEOLOGICAL SURFACE, ALSO WE NEED TO CHANGE EVERY CALENDAR AND PREDICTIVE MODEL OF OUR SOLAR SYSTEM, ALSO WE NEED TO BE AWARE OF DEBRIS FROM THE MOON NOW????? so like, i think the issue with kill the moon is that the episode almost tries to be sci-fi but then takes a sudden swerve and never addresses the effects of it

it’s not even about “ohhh it breaks physics!” bc like, that’s All Of Doctor Who, it’s “it breaks physics in a way that’s not a localized event, would have profound effects on the scientific community that are never addressed, and also where tf did the conservation of mass go, that’s a new one”

i’m sure you could point to plenty of episodes that i love that will contradict my opinions on this post

so i doubt there’s a really strong justification for me, it’s more “idk i like other episodes better bc hehe doctor funny”

i’m specifically salty bc i’m a physics major who loves astronomy and i pity the scientists that were never addressed djhfhkjdfjkhf
