Haraq continued wandering through the rocks and the narrow crevices that snaked through the stony peaks and vales. He had no clear direction, only that he knew he had to find a spot like the last one: a place of endless twilight. The gloom in the air gave everything a ghostly gray appearance, but he didn’t think that’s what he was looking for. But where could he go? It was all rocks and scraggy plants. No mist or water or anything. Nothing that might transcend space and create a different sort of spot, a bit on the edge of normal.
The desert prince kept walking until the grey clouds began to darken. A sooty-green replaced the grey-lead, so the clouds had a dusky turquoise hue. He wondered if it was turning to rain.
He collapsed on a large stone. He had been walking and walking for hours and gotten nowhere. His stomach growled restlessly, like beast in a hollow pen. Haraq had paused a few times to eat a little from the food in his satchel, but was careful not to eat too much. Who knew long these meager rations were supposed to last him?

My revisions got gummed up in March so I’m way behind where I wanted to be. I figured out (I think) why I’ve been struggling around this one part of the plot. I’m not sure when I’ll get back to working on it/have something to post, but your enthusiasm is a nice boost toward the effort.
