I also do not know what specifically to talk about so I'll just throw a shitload of random hcs at you! (I'm also amused by how the bubble emoji kind of looks like Crystal Eye lol)
In canon, Crystal is listed to be mysterious but shady, like fortune telling, and dislike scientists. I interpret this as him being a neurotic control freak who is very particular about his image and his beliefs. Crystal is attracted to superstition because it gives her a sense of control. Over her fate, how others perceive her, how others perceive the world, etc. Crystal's "mysterious aura" is something he intentionally cultivates. She likes fortune telling because it gives her a sense of authority over others, and she despises when that authority is challenged. It's why Gravity gets under his nerves SO much, or why he feels the need to convince everyone he knows to also believe in fortune telling.
The funny thing is... Crystal doesn't even believe in half the fortunes he gives to people? Like, most of the time he's just telling you whatever he thinks will get you coming back to pay him. And he is scarily good at this.
That said, Crystal DOES genuinely believe he has some ability to see the future. Which is... debatable. He does have a pretty good handle on social economics so ig he's not exactly surprised by a lot of the bullshit that happens.
Though she doesn't express this outwardly much, Crystal is a deeply cynical person. I don't know what else you'd expect from Guy Whose Talent is Scamming People but he tends to see people as "predictably" bland or gullible or inane or otherwise deficient in a way only he is perceptive enough to see. (judgy mc judgeface). He rarely actually respects or is interested in the people he gives fortunes to. This cynicism shows up in his actual (genuine) fortunes as well. Which sure seem to be a lot about people making shitty choices or Bad Things Happening.
Btw Crystal is he/she/they genderfluid to me <3 (Crystal Man/Lady) (inspired by the fact that she was originally gonna be Crystal Lady in mm5's development before that was scrapped)
Crystal is besties with Star Man. There's not rlly a deep reason for this, they just get each others' vibe. Other than Star, Crystal doesn't voluntarily hang out with the other fifths outside of business/keeping up appearances.
Crystal has this insufferable belief that she can accurately read and predict other people, but that's because she sort of can. I hc the fifths were specifically built to work as a team in combat. Crystal's role in a fight is to cover every last blind spot with high precision. The fifths strategically cover for each others' weaknesses already, but Crystal’s job is to take care of the leftover details so no one is caught off guard by anything. Using Crystal Eye effectively requires a lot of precision and predictive power, because in order to get the most out of it you need to predict the angle at which the attack will scatter and aim accordingly. Crystal is made to be able to quickly process the bigger picture and predict combatant behavior in real time in order to better complement his role in the team and the positioning of his Crystal Eye.
Speaking of Crystal Eyes, I hc that while they have high durability, Crystal can create them with internal fissures to make them shatter like timed explosives (they’re also extremely hot when newly created, which adds to the damage/explosive pressure). Crystal also calculates the times/angles at which they will disperse based on this.
The actual formation of Crystal Eye can also be used like a close-range attack if done quickly enough, as it suddenly punches out space. So if Crystal put her hands around your head and generated Crystal Eye, it would crack open your skull from the inside. (This only works if there is airspace though.)
Crystal uses a really smooth, addictive voice. The type that helps hypnotize people into actually buying what he's selling. She generally speaks in a lower register but works with an extremely wide vocal range. (though it becomes much rougher whenever he's thrown off balance).
Crystal is a master at (dubiously ethical) money-making practices and is like half the reason why Wily Castle still has utilities. Not enough to save them from tight financial straits though.
Sometime after accidentally "causing" Stone Man to become best buds with Guts Man, Crystal himself develops a (onesided?) crush on Guts Man simply bc I think he would be soooo fucking mad about it <3 (also bc Guts is just too decent and well-rounded of a guy for Crystal to actually think badly of no matter how hard he tries. but still. mostly for the funnies lol)
