thinking on it from yesterday, i had no problem with zayns tweet. and it def was not him shading the fact he wasnt nominated, as we/he know his album was to late... but reading the first sentence again, "everyone associated with it" might have been slightly harsh and im now glad he sent out the second tweet, just to clarify it wasnt to all artists.

I think one thing about Zayn, he will make it abundantly clear if it was about a specific person aka Harry. this tweet is about the institution of the Grammies and how you need to talk the talk to be nominated hence sending a fruit basket to the people in charge

I honestly think Harry and Zayn both wanted out but Harry new what would happen so that’s why he did the hiatus in 2014, but only was allowed again when Zayn left. I know it sounds dramatic but Zayn leaving saved the other boys as it allowed them to stop after the 5th album. And I don’t think the boys wanted to continue as 5years with them all would have been so weird when Zayn left. And I can’t believe the boys didn’t know that Zayn was going, they did a perfume add, during Four album for MITAM

Yeah, I’m aware of the fandom theories around Zayn’s leaving and how he really did them a favor. While I question the official narrative, including what Zayn himself has said, that Zayn made a sudden decision to leave basically in the middle of the night—I think it would have been very hard to get away without someone notifying their management—I don’t think it was well thought or planned out.

There’s a lot made of that perfume ad, that one version was shot without Zayn, do I have that right? I wasn’t a fan and didn’t have thoughts about Zayn’s departure until becoming his fan and reading his book. I’m sure it was messy and complicated and awful. I don’t have much opinion about Harry—he wanted out, obviously, because he asked for the hiatus and was making plans for a solo career, and I suspect that fight in Bangkok, if that one guy can be trusted and honestly I followed him on tw for a while and he says some weird stuff about covid, was related to Zayn leaving, but it’s all ancient history now, those who know all or parts of what happened aren’t talking.
