obsessed with how you draw c!dream so scarred. it's really, really tasty. though it differs from my design it always makes me so happy to see him in the tag. yessssss hes so pretty!!! i interpreted that ask as being about how hes evil and stupid not about his scars 😭 i gotta put a little disclaimer on that now lmao. anyway hes my beautiful horrible edgelord and his scars are SOO much fun to draw!
little extra stuff if anyone was curious:
-i didnt depict it that well, but his right, scarred arm is more withered and much stiffer than the left. he has a prosthetic that he made himself (he's made a hundred different versions trying to constantly improve it). it's based off the anatomy of the actual tendons in the arm, with some extra. essentially what it is is some padding for comfort + to make it appear the same as the other arm when wearing armor, and then a bunch of flexible rubber and leather tendons with replicas of the joints in the arm. they force his arm and fingers to extend and contact. he also has a scar-care regimen including ointment made with Nether materials like blaze powder and a bunch of physical therapy exercises that he made up himself. this is one of the very, very few ways in which he actually takes proper care of himself lmao.
-as i mentioned before, he's got a glass eye. it's not very realistic but he doesn't care. he likes to take it out and leave it in disturbing places to jumpscare punz.
-it was a conscious choice on his part to keep the exposed teeth + nose, even if facial reconstruction surgery was available he wouldn't have wanted it in order to make his face as different as possible from exdee's. because of this, he has troubles speaking, eating, and drinking. he can't pronounce the P in punz's name properly, so he'll either drop it entirely or replace it with a different consonant, usually an S or an H. punz loves this.
-punz loves the texture of his scars soooo much. he likes to run his hands over them.
-dream's nerve endings are just about fried, so he can feel very little sensation in the scarred areas, particularly where the burns were heaviest, but he enjoys this nevertheless. he especially likes the way punz looks at him as he does it.
-dream wears the mask for intimidation, to avoid annoying questions, and because his scars to him represent something deeply intimate, not because he's ashamed of them in any capacity. burning his own face off was to him an actualization of his personhood, and when he looked in the mirror for the first time after a bit of recovery it was the first time in his entire life that he'd ever seen himself staring back at him and not exdee. essentially, the scars are a representation of his bodily autonomy. plus, burgeoning (literal) god complex, no mortal deserves to gaze upon the divinity of his features. except punz but punz doesn't count as mortal, he's too special.
