Cam for sure! He's a marine biologist :) He lives on the next planet over in the Tatoo system, where he works at an aquarium. He ends up going to college later in life, sometime after his marriage to Ember. Ember btw is very cute about hyping up his husband, he thinks Cam's the smartest guy in the galaxy.

Oh do I. You're familiar with Stormbrake/Optimus, the enemies-to-lovers of all time. Whisper/Zer0 from Borderlands are very strange about each other and tbh I support them in all things. Fury/Paz/U'Rajya/A'Hidayat is a ship that started as Fury/Paz and went on to spiral completely out of control (they have eight kids). And honestly I'm gonna count Boba/Oola for this one, because I made up almost everything about her and did some significant redesigning. I'm gonna keep it to canon/OC pairings bc otherwise this will get out of hand.

Hm, who are my haunted house people... Jude, Kestrel, or Bee would be investigating some crime they believed to have been committed there.

Racer, Fury, B Roll, Atlas, Rence, the Valkyries, Eixes Judarri, Scrapper Crew, would all go there for funsies.

Whisper, Prey Drive, Bella, Carno, Vinir, and Ripper would go to try to provoke the ghosts into fighting them.

Boom would go to video things and show he's fine and no ghosts ate him, so can the kids chill out, now?

Watcher and Shrike are there to take notes on whatever they find, like some kind of ghost anthropologist.

Cathedi is there to try to befriend the ghosts.

Hm. I've got a lot of people wandering around into haunted houses by themselves at night. Surely this couldn't go wrong!

For the Aces Squad: What's their favourite critter (if they have one?) For the Valkyries: Do they believe in any superstitions?

ooh hi!

For the Aces - Racer's favourite are her siblings (affectionate, usually). She also thinks furbies should count, partially because they are an animal to her, and partially because she likes making people wonder what goes on in her head.

Fury is ambivalent about everything but banthas, he pays equal attention to his two Tusken spouses and their banthas LOL you can find him in the bantha barn at any hour of the day or night.

Blue was never an 'animal guy' but then he married a devoted ferret dad and decided those little guys were the coolest actually.

Ember was a fan of stingrays from the first time he saw them, and then his first date with his future husband was guarding a sea turtle nest (there are many benefis to being a marine biologist) so he loves those too because his husband loves them.

Whisper has always been a frog stan first and a human being second. Or third or fourth. Xe also likes massiffs quite a bit and has four including xeim service dog!

As for the Valkyries... idk 🤔 I checked out some common sailing superstitions and some of those apply! Re-naming a boat is bad luck and they've named all their boats the same thing. Saying good luck on a boat is actually bad luck, and so is saying goodbye (you are to say GO KICK HIS ASS BABY instead, perfectly acceptable). Cats are good omens! Keep some kitties on board!

Also googling old superstitions and seeing 'no girls allowed' made me laugh. No I don't think they would believe in that one. I think just about all of them do believe in ghosts, but then again ghosts are canon in Star Wars, so I don't think that would be considered to be a supersition, in-universe.

SO ACES SQUAD! I saw on the picrew post that Blue talks to the flower bushes and I need to know what he talks about with them. And do they have names????

Fury is a cook??? Tell me more???? 👀👀 Does he have a favorite thing to make??? What was the first dish he ever made and how did it turn out??

Racer! As a fellow Oldest Sibling/Sister I gotta ask- what’s her favorite way to annoy each of her kih’vode? Because I love annoying the little shits as revenge for all they’ve put me through

Whisper- I am just. So intrigued by xeim. Would xe like a chew toy to bite on?? They’re very soothing and I have a few xe can borrow :3

I am in love with Ember to be honest. He seems like such a sweet baby. I would like to wrap him up in a blanket burrito and give him many cookies to nom on

Yesss my first squad, they'll always be famous to me <3

Blue mostly talks about problems because then nobody talks back to him. The man just needs to vent at something, once in a while. But he also tells them that they're nice plants with pretty flowers, because he heard that saying things like that helps them grow better. He also talks to them about his boyfriend a lot. The family has some very strongly held Opinions about Blue's taste in men. (Well, taste in man. Singular. He married the first dude who showed interest in him and they're strangely cute about it.) The plants do not have names but he's particularly fond of the blueberry bush that his man gifted him.

Fury is a cook! And a baker! He loooves everything with strawberries, it's the polycule's favourite fruit so he gets really good at every dessert he can find. He also likes a lot of spiced food and gets very good at a jalapeno, cheddar, and bacon sourdough. He will eat any kind of sandwich on that bread. But his favourite favourite is grilled cheese with grape jelly. He made it in the GAR after good missions and now it's a traditional celebratory food for the squad. That was his first attempt at his own recipe, so to speak, and it became everyone's go-to comfort food.

Racer is very good at annoying people. Blue is easily annoyed by her because she's chaotic and loves explosions and keeps sneaking bombs onto their ship/into their house. Fury cannot be annoyed by her 99% of the time, they are far too alike, but sometimes she tries to bother him into doing chaos with her while he's hyperfixated on something else and he gets snappy with her. Ember hates how she just goes through his closet and steals all his cute shirts, but he can always steal them back. Whisper has bitten her so many times for just picking xei up in a hug and spinning xei around like a dreidel, or just being too loud in xeim general vicinity, and she has yet to learn any better.

Yeah xe loves chew toys! I hc that xe does have a chew necklace that xe gnaws on while xe's staked out somewhere cause it gives xei something to do. Xe also likes rubik's cubes and has the kind that has those different tactile bumps that match the colours.

Ember is such a sweetheart. He does love blanket burritos, especially with his husband. But the best place to chill is in the bay window blanket nest with their baby girl cuddled to his chest. They live on the next planet over from Tatooine and everyone visits each other all the time. He's also a ballet dancer, fire dancer, and a woodworker! The whole family's got little carved animals hanging around. They're good luck charms <3 And he carves their tiny darling Kote's crib, too!

my favourite thing about Racer is that she seems like she's never had a brain cell in her life. and then you realise that she's the demolitions expert of the squad, which means that she's highly intelligent and detail-oriented. and then you realise that that means the chaotic lack of brain cells is completely on purpose.

What’s the use in having a tall brother if you can’t see him in a crowd? Racer considers trying to hop, before deciding that’s a little undignified even by her standards. So she does the next best thing, which is also probably going to be much more effective. 

She cups her hands around her mouth, tilts her head back, and hollers, 

“Fury you idiot, you lost me! Hey! I’m over here! Hey!” 

He finds her in no time, of course he does. She’s hard to ignore when she puts her mind to it. And whenever she’s around an open flame. But Blue confiscated her flares and her grenades last week, and she hasn’t figured out how to get them back yet. Whisper won’t help until she apologises for stealing those leftovers, and she’s not about to do that. 

“You’re so loud,” he complains, and holds his hand out to her. 

“Yeah, well, wanna guess how I know your boyfriend’s name?” she asks as she threads her fingers with his. Harder to lose someone when you’re holding onto them. 

“Gross little weirdo. When I was your height–” 

“When I was your gender–” 

He scoffs and rolls his eyes, and yanks her around a trio of adults trying to wrangle what seems to be a few too many children. One of them makes a break for it and is promptly chased down by one of their fathers. Privately, Racer is rooting for them to get away again. They can’t get in too much trouble at a festival, right? 

“I’m getting some of that melon juice,” Fury decides, and drags her along to a slightly crooked line of temporary food stands. 

She doesn’t complain, but she is going to make him get her some juice, too. 

“Hey, is your creature gonna be here?” she asks after taking an obnoxiously loud and rattling sip of her drink. 

“Which creature?” 

“You know, the big one.” 

“If you’re talking about my boyfriend, no, he’s helping Jules with verd’goten plans.” 

“You’re gonna get dizzy if you keep rolling your eyes.” 

“You should try it, it might air out your brain a little.” 

She snorts and steps on his foot, and ignores when he elbows her in the side. It’s how they say they love each other. Of course, Blue thinks they’re ridiculous, but he thinks that about a lot of things that they do. He’s obviously never been right. 

“What are you doing later, anyway?” she asks. “Me and Ember are taking a speeder out to stargaze after the second moon goes down. You could take another crack at that astronavigation you’re trying to learn.” 

“Sure, yeah,” he says after a considering moment. “I was always good with a compass, I don’t know why this is so hard.” 

“Maybe you should try airing your brain out a little bit.” 

“Dumbass.” 

“Dipshit.” 

“Ooh, hey, they have cinnamon flatbread.” 

She buys, this time, because it’s only fair. And because then, she can claim that she can get away with stealing pinches off his bread, because she paid for it. 

The festival is loud and bright and has more people than she’s ever seen in Mos Espa before. It’s a good thing they’re holding hands, because she can count five or six times that she would have lost him if they’d been separated by an arm’s length. 

“You hear that?” she asks, scrubbing her hand on her pants to wipe off the cinnamon powder. “They’re playing our song.” 

First time they’d all gone out after the war. The whole squad clustered together in a club, clinging to each others’ hands as she and Fury do now, laughing at each other over the music and trying to mimic the dancing of the people around them. Poorly, at the time, but they’ve all gotten a little better sense. 

He spins her under his arm, and she laughs as she ducks to fit, wrapping her arm around his waist as she nudges into his side. 

“Still a good song,” she says, spinning him this time. He has to duck even farther to fit under her arm, since he is, irrationally, a head taller than her. But she doesn’t mind. He’s always been her favourite brother. 

They dance to the song in the street, and the festival is all the better for it, and she loves, like she always does, that people are staring.

For Prim, Racer, U'rajya and Chen: What’s the best advice they’ve ever received?

Prim: her buire are firm believers in killing transphobes and she thinks that's a pretty good idea, actually! but also Fennec taught her how to call in kitties and that's only very slightly behind, if not tied, as far as levels of importance goes.

Racer: objectively, the best advice was "stop setting random shit on fire". but since she didn't listen to that advice whatsoever, she would vote for her girlfriend teaching her to [redacted for tumblr sensitivities]

U'Rajya: their parents taught them most of what they know about banthas! their darling Rayyan is everything to them <3 also their mom was an advocate of "don't fall for hot boys, wait for good men" (and then had some questions about the strawberries lmao)

Xunielah: hmmm. I had to think about this one! I think it would be advice from their father about being kind to everyone, since that's what first sparked Nihaan's interest in her. and that turned out well for everyone!
