Fears ...
This whole "Ides of March" thing is making me remember the assassination of Cuhlecain which, coincidentally, was also in First Seed. He’s kind of like Caesar in that he was very close to becoming the first emperor.
Wait, would that make me Brutus? Haha I meant Augustus, totally. I didn’t kill Cuhlecain.
TES Memory: the Ghost of Old Hroldan wearing a full set of Ancient Nord Armor, despite being only around 700 years old.
For context, other spirits seen wearing this armor lived during the Merethic and First Eras, about 2000 years before the life and times of this ghost. Apparently, Cuhlecain had his late Second Era army outfitted with antiques.
Did You Know: Fathis Aren's Tower is also referred to as a "Temple of the Emperor Zero"? The Prima Guide and Construction Set zone name both refer to it as such, although there is no other references to it serving such a function. The Cult of Emperor Zero was dedicated to Cuhlecain, who would be tragically murdered and succeeded by Tiber Septim.
Different Periods of the Imperial Empire, Ranked by Length of Existence From Shortest to Longest
10. Cuhlecain's Conquests -- 2E 852 to 2E 854 (2 years)
9. Stormcrown Interregnum -- 4E 10 to 4E 17 (7 years)
8. Ocato Potentate -- 4E 1 to 4E 10 (9 years)
7. The Alessian Empire (Before Order Takeover) -- 1E 243 to 1E 361 (118 years)
6. Empire of Cyrodiil (Interregnum) -- 2E 430 to at least 2E 583 (153 years, Actual Dissolution Date Unknown)
5. Mede Empire -- 4E 17 to at least 4E 201 (184 years)
4. The Reman Empire (Before Akaviri Potentate Takeover) -- 1E 2703 to 1E 2920 (217 years)
3. The Akaviri Potentate -- 22 Evening Star, 1E 2920 to 2E 430/431 (430 to 431 years)
2. Septim Empire (Before the death of last Dragonborn Emperor) -- 2E 854 to 3E 433 (475 years)
1. The Alessian Order -- 1E 361 to 1E 2331 (1,970 years)
Do you think the Emperor Cuhlecain had Reachman heritage? That looks more like a Reach name (i.e. pseudo-Celtic) than Nordic even if he was a petty king of Falkreath (according to the UESP) and Falkreath IS downriver from the Reach.
It’s entirely possible he was mixed-race - likely Colovian, Nord and Reachmen.
As I was staring at this ask my brain went Cuhlecain.... Akulakhan... connection? Cuhlecain was slain by Tiber Septim so he himself could become emperor (probably) and then Tiber Septim used the Numidium/Walk-Brass to conquer... *checks notes* everyone.
Akulakhan was Dagoth Ur’s knockoff Numidium, designed with the purpose of liberating Morrowind.
I am probably like, connecting dots that aren’t there just because the names are similar-sounding (and Akulakhan definitely Means Something in chimeris/dunmeris) but my brain won’t let it go.
