Five Mountains of Assynt by Paul Taylor Via Flickr: We had been exploring the Coigach Peninsula north of Ullapool when we rounded a hill and saw before us this magnificent sight. As I was taking the shots (this is a four shot pano) a storm blew in from behind making for a letterbox of bright sky in the distance with five mountains highlighted. On the left is Suilven with Canisp lurking behind, then Cul Mor, a slight view of Cul Beag and then Stac Pollaidh. The heavy rain can easily be made out and I feel this adds to the shot rather than detracts. An amazing sight of an amazing place.
The Land of Discord by john mcsporran Via Flickr: The old legends of the Highlands of Scotland tell of a fight between two brothers who were called Unt and Ass-Unt, meaning the man of peace and the man of discord. Ass-Unt having won the fight gave his named to the land now called Assynt in the North West Highlands. This is a panorama of the mountains of Assynt taken at dawn from the top of the mountain - Sgurr an Fhidhleir (The Fiddler).
Good Morning from Scotland.

Sgorr Tuath Dawn by James Grant Via Flickr: Sometimes getting out of bed a little earlier rewards you well with a pre-sunrise glow to any clouds in the sky, just like this day. Below the summit of Sgorr Tuath in the Coigach region I was stood with amazing view over to Assynt. The mountains of Cul Beag, Cul Mor and Suilven loomed awaiting the first light of day. An amazing experience. My Website - James Grant Photography Also Follow Me at **Facebook* *Twitter**500px* *EPZ*.
