Ah yes, my entry fic into the Lone Star fandom! I remember it vividly. I needed a distraction from writing my master’s thesis (which was two semesters overdue) and a few people I followed on twitter were sharing a lot of Tarlos content lately so I watched the entire Tarlos clips playlist on Youtube... and then I watched the whole show (caught up just in time for 3x08 😭) and became fully obsessed.
Each chapter is a little spec fic of how the proposal might have happened as the season progressed. I wrote the first chapter after 3x15 because I really thought TK was gonna blurt out “marry me” in that final scene and I was so disappointed he didn’t. But the proposal we did get was beautiful!

A Merlin “Eye of the Phoenix” (3x08) coda in which Arthur has more than a single brain cell and Gwaine is fiercely protective of Merlin ❤️ Eye of the Phoenix is one of my favorite Merlin episodes and Arthur got so close to figuring it out if he’d just LISTEN TO GRETTIR... anyway. I think the only reason this has the most kudos is because I tagged it as Merthur 😅 when really there’s just a little bit of Merthur and a little bit of Mergwaine in the background.

This is not surprising 😅 I’m still so proud of my first ever chaptered fic, and thank you to everyone who read it and commented and encouraged me to finish and post it in the first place! This one is a Tarlos wedding spec fic with a twist... I had a lot of fun writing it but I also definitely burned out with it, and then the finale burned me out even more. I think it’s gonna be a while before I get back to writing in earnest.
Least words: “Don’t ruin this.”
This was a Star Trek Discovery fic (Culmets, specifically) I did for Fictober. I challenge myself to write at least a hundred words for each prompt, and on this day I could just manage 102 😅 I’ve written better Culmets fic than this (and abandoned at least one... sorry 😬 I do want to finish it eventually) but it’s been a long while, I kind of abandoned Discovery after season 3 and I’m still stewing over it. (Like I was fully onboard with the show and excited about it and then after the Georgiou episodes it was like a switch flipped and suddenly I could not find it good anymore and to this day I can’t articulate what happened!). I kinda miss my queer space family though :(
