Anyone else tried those cat carrier backpacks? I was reading a review earlier and was honestly surprised that their cat Milo actually fell asleep inside the backpack the first day it arrived, and later went on his first hike without any drama.
insane to me that anonymous q&a sites are somehow the hardest thing imaginable to keep up when it's literally just "submit question to user, let user read question"
and yet they keep fucking it up
they keep bloating it into something "bigger" (see: "worse") by adding following, feeds, media upload, and overall trying to spur it off into yet another generic social media feed site
nobody asked for that, we just want to submit and receive anonymous questions
like most people just use it by screenshotting questions and posting them elsewhere anyways, a dedicated feed of answers isn't needed
but then of course you couldn't turn it into a failed startup, which is exactly what the smoothbrains at Neospring have decided to do
Neospring was killed off by its creators because they weren't able to make money off of it. So they made a bloated social media Mastodon-clone that's invite-only and in order to join without free invitation you need to pay for a monthly "supporter" account.
They claim the reason for Neospring's shutdown is "due to lacking features that our new site has!" while also putting Neospring users on blast for daring to push back about the shutdown and migration to a paid platform with more restrictive TOS than Neospring.
Fuck Tetratto, fuck your failed startup shit, fuck your whining about users wanting to use your free website for free, nobody asked for your bloated garbage. WE JUST WANT AN ANONYMOUS ASK SITE THAT ISN'T A TUMBLR BLOG AND DOESN'T BAN FOR ADULT CONTENT. IT'S NOT THAT MUCH OF A REQUEST, IS IT???

CuriousCat is shutting down on October 7, 2024. It has such a unique place in online history (along with Tumblr Asks) as evidence of our desire to know and be known, but with context-specific parameters of privacy and vulnerability.
