it could be a while before i can pick up another western. josh deets and augustus mccrae will haunt me alongside little jimmy blevins from the border trilogy(crying thinking about deets as i type this now). there were very few female characters but i love the two we got. i'm so sorry lorie but thank god clara found you. something about the end of this book was so goddamn eerie it felt like the ghosts of all the characters who had passed were there to see it through. when i go, write "'what will we do?' 'live through it'" on my urn. i love cowboys because they're sad and haunted and worn like me.

i wished it was longer, think i might just also need to revisit. this book included other stories as well, looooooved maggie moneyeyes, it was very twin peaks/gravity falls esque. i wonder if david lynch read it, i'm sure he did.
jurassic park by michael crichton⭐️⭐️⭐️
enjoyed the pacing! wasted no time as well as no expense:D this book went into soooo much detail and depth and really cool science! i wish i could understand it all. also included some really well written pieces about human nature and earth's ability to rebuild and what horrible things can happen when greedy people have too much money. it's not the dinosaur's fault, it's ours!
