The (almost) lost art of the curtsy

First of all: I'm not talking about the often-botched, deep genuflection that females awkwardly perform in front of the British king. I'm talking about a short bending of the knee, often with one leg slightly rotated to the outside, usually performed with a straight back, a slightly bowed head and without vulgarly pushing out the ass.

This used to be the standard greeting that girls performed in front of superiors (all adults in the case of children, older people and dignitaries for adult females) - often in combination with a handshake, but also as a standalone gesture.

Unfortunately this beautiful gesture has almost been forgotten. The last time I happened to spot one in the wild, was 20 years ago, at the closing ceremony of a small, local sports event, where one of the participants - a girl around 20 - performed one in front of the club president to thank him for the medal she had received. This cute, little gesture was noticed positively not only by me, but also by other people in the audience.

I believe, it is time to bring back this gesture into the broader society.

Why?

- It is gendered: The curtsy is exclusively performed by women, so it is ideally suited to (re-) establish gender distinctions.

-It is submissive: It is usually only performed in front of superiors, and it publicly and casually shows the girls lower status. It can be performed in front of the girl's man, in front of superiors at work or anywhere, all men or, generally non-peers.

-It is cute and girlish: It offers an instant cuteness boost by at least 150% within barely a second, without any of the cost and hassle of feminine clothes or accessories.

- It is inconspicuous: These connotations are still in the public consciousness through entertainment media, but it doesn't have a "kink" label attached to it. So it's 100% SFW, family friendly and can be used in public anytime and anywhere.

-It is multi-purpose: It can be a greeting - with or without shaking hands, an expression of gratitude, an acknowledgement of an order, a random gesture of submission or even a part of a temporary speech restriction, when the girl is only allowed to talk while kneeling or holding a curtsy position.

So, let's get started:

Men, boost your girls' courtesy and style, by teaching them this beautiful gesture.

Girls, get up and learn your moves! Then start showing your man, your boss, customers at work or whomever how much you appreciate them.
