The Season Thus Far
I've only actually competed in one tournament this year. It was a TFA tournament and we did absolutely awful. I cried a lot. As did the rest of my team. It's aggravating to have only learned stock issues and then scramble to try and teach ourselves theory when we're so far behind in the game. I've attended two other tournaments, though, and judged both. Judging is absolutely incredible and so different from debating. The only downside really was the frustration any how clueless some novices can be, but we all had to start somewhere. I have decided that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. Teaching debate, coaching, judging. It's so rewarding beyond means of explanation.
Camp
So, I start my first debate camp on Sunday. I will be there 7 days working on policy shit and rooming with my adorable partner. This is only my second year in CX (as well as my last), so I am a bit nervous as to what the competition will be like. Especially considering my partner has been to camp before and I have a bit of experience, leading us to deciding not to go the novice route. Anyone else going to be at ETBU the 12-18?
