I've had this idea for a Cybertronian boyband for a while and it started as a bit of a gag, but then I grew fond of them and treated them seriously 😅

Basically the band was a massive psyop devised by Cybertron Intelligence with the purpose of extracting any valuable information from neutral/hostile territories and, of course, subtly persuading any stragglers to join their just, right cause.

The band's members were all recruits handpicked from the Academy for their musical talents. When they weren't touring and performing, they were charming intel out of starstruck fans, neutrals and 'Cons alike. They were spies playing the role of airhead pop stars.

When the project achieved its intended purpose, CY4 was disbanded and Encore, Decibel, Stanza and Quincy had to get normal jobs and lay low, but that's another story 💕

About the members:

-Quincy is half-Quintesson, as he was created when a protoform came into contact with a Quintesson judge.

-Each of them play into a boyband cliché, like Decibel is the sensitive one, Quincy is the chill one, Encore is the "bad guy", and Stanza is the golden boy/sweetheart of the group.

-With the exception of Quincy, their actual personalities are the complete opposite of that, with Deci being a control freak, Stanza being insufferable, and Encore being really sweet and mellow.

-They were legitimately friends, even after they each went their own way. They hang out at Maccadam's every once in a while.

-CY4 was formed way before the current events in tfa, in the present they're around Ratchet's age.

-After they were made to stay under the radar, Decibel became a nurse, Encore became a teacher, Stanza became a socialite/trophy cojunx, and Quincy became Quintessa's one and only defense attorney.
