He is a girl dad, I really think he loves them so much. She is so kind of leader of the Nereids imo he loves her much more just as happen with elderly people with the first born. My grandfather once told me that he loved his firstborn more because he had spent the most time loving him, that the moment you hold your first child in your arms is the most special moment of your life. So I think this happened to Nereus as well.

Many sources also mention that the Nereids live with their father, so there may be family quarrels, I don't deny it, and they also live/spend time in Poseidon's palace, they are a big family.

My favourites of all are Psamathe and Cymodoce. Both are related in some way to the beach, the first with sand, translated as "Sand goddess", and the second translated as "steadying the waves". I love beaches, I don't like sunbathing, but I have a very special connection with the beach, so naturally those two would be my favourites.

If I had to choose my favourite of the two, it would be Psamathe, as she is a possible mother of Eidothea and directly represents sand. If we count Ino/Leucothea and Helle as Nereids, Ino would be my favourite of all.
