Pharloom Bestiary - #17. Garmond & Zaza

Vigorous old knight and their noble companion, working together to see their lands cut free from haunted madness.

They too seek the spectre at the Haunting's heart, though I fear that foe would pose a challenge beyond their mortal limits.

Classification: Comrade

I respect these two travelers, and admire their company and assistance when they've given it. I wish that they did not go so easy on me when they decided to challenge me to a friendly spar. It may have been a less humiliating defeat for them, and a more entertaining challenge for myself. I have to seriously consider if they are not getting in over their own shells in this kingdom.

Pharloom Bestiary - #23. The Unravelled

Tormented will of countless husks made manifest in a pit of Silk dregs.

The souls of so many bugs, obsessed with Silk, consumed by it. Their pain shall forever remain in that pit. Even I do not possess strength enough to cleanse it.

Classification: Guardian

A haunted amalgamation of dead shells and castaway silk, as wretched to fight as it is to behold. This is a creature that should not exist, and I could not allow it to exist. And yet taking it down was an experience in torment and misery in every way, from the sharp-faced husks it summoned to way it seemed to slip through the piles of discarded silk like a flowing current, only to emerge directly beneath my feet. Its metal plating prevented me from striking from above, and the spears it wielded with the force of its silk caught me many times unawares. All of this with the sheer disgusting reality of its existence weighing down on me mentally. I should thank all the powers that be that this creature has been exorcised from existence.

New Kunlun Bestiary - #10. Headless Xingtian

Class: Guardian

With Chiyou failing to bring his brother to enlightenment, the only thing left was to make certain that he couldn't be exploited anymore. But in his last ditch attempt to bring his brother peace, he instead was stricken down. It was left to me to face Xingtian in his headless form amidst the chaos of the Tiandao Research Center's containment collapse. All there really is to say is that now the creature and his brother can rest in peace together.

New Kunlun Bestiary - #2. Goumang

"One of the Ten Sols in the Council and responsible for managing agriculture on New Kunlun.

Goumang's childhood experiences drove her to study agricultural technology. She believes in efficiency and the survival of the fittest. However, underneath that facade of ruthless efficiency lies more complex emotions and motives."

Class: Sol

The second sol seal belonged to Goumang, the head of the agricultural district and a far less cooperative individual than Kuafu. Her mission and values have been thoroughly corrupted, and now she sits on a throne while mangled, transmutated apemen servants bring her octoberries to feast upon. When I finally reached her chambers, her servants were forced to fight in her stead, distracting me while she flew just out of my reach. Only when her slaves were down did she dip low enough for me to strike out at her. A truly twisted and cowardly creature, and one that I was glad to put squarely behind me.

Pharloom Bestiary - #45. Palestag

Fabled first Cloverstag of Verdania's wilds. Commands the grass and leaves to aid its attack.

Myth made real in memory. The creature seemed completely at one with the flora around it. Did it ever truly exist as I have seen it?

Classification: Major Denizen

In the easternmost caverns of Pharloom is a dull and ruined cave system containing the remains of a civilization lost to time. In the memories of the melancholic Green Prince I saw the wondrous and beautiful land of Verdania and experienced what this land once was, and what the Citadel did to it. The Palestag seems to be a beautiful centerpiece for the mesmerizing fauna of this land, yet its abilities seem clouded in memory, and while stories tell of a grand hunt that earned the Prince and his mate their positions as leaders, my experience here hardly matches such stories.

Pharloom Bestiary - #25. Broodmother

Mad matriarch of the Slab rarely seen outside her warren. From her all jailers are born and bred.

With this one vanquished, I hope to have sped the end for that jail and its distasteful order.

Classification: Major Denizen

A putrid creature birthing the bugs that guard the hideous and wretched Slab. I despised every moment that I spent fighting this miserable creature and her irritating and incessant spawn. May the Sands of Karak see water once again, and may the Slab sink beneath its waves forever.

Pharloom Bestiary - #16. Savage Beastfly (Far Fields)

Angered, adult Beastfly with a weighty body and a thickened hardshell mask.

Civilisation encroaches from this kingdom's crown, but the lowlands are still ruled by great beasts. Its roar stirs something deep within me, some primal instinct.

Classification: Major Denizen

Though I wished to never see this creature again, it seems to have been causing trouble for the citizens of Bellhart, and reluctantly, I tracked it down to do battle once again. As difficult and frustrating as it was to fight such a beast in the limited confines of the Chapel of Beasts, it was all the more agonizing to duel it in the lava pits of the far fields, were the bugs shoot explosives and the floor collapses into magma beneath me. I hope that if any of these creatures still live, that they never cross paths with me again.
