"I can offer you transportation and this Crown Royal Bag of Holding."
- NPC
DM: Barbarian, putting that glove on immediately makes you want to curl your fingers into a fist and punch someone. Player: So, it's a normal, nonmagical glove is what you're saying.
I love magical objects with loopholes.
Imagine a necklace amulet that makes the user the strongest one on land.
What I hear here is:
- The amulet doesn't work in water (not "on land") and on land the user is always "the strongest one".
- Or the amulet makes you the strongest one of the ones on land, thus there is a possibility that someone who is from the sea will beat their ass.
- Or imagine this: For years, the one wearing the amulet was strong as hell yes, but only in terms of peak human ability. One day, they get strength of ridiculous power. Because someone REAL strong appeared, and was stronger than the amulet-wearer, so the amulet make the wearer stronger than the one who appeared.
