I noticed this on Solas’s section of the DAI characters tvtropes page:
Gratuitous Iambic Pentameter: Half the time he speaks in it, though it's hard to notice. You even get approval for responding back in pentameter.
I went digging through a lot of his audio to see if this was true, and honestly? Any iambic pentameter I find seems completely incidental. He definitely doesn’t seem to stick to it. This was the closest I could get (and it’s not a very good example):
We hear stories of them living in trees and imagine wooden ramps and Dalish aravels. Imagine instead spires of crystal, twining through the branches, palaces floating among the clouds. Imagine beings who lived forever, for whom magic was as natural as breathing. That is what was lost.
I didn’t go through all of his audio, so I could have missed it, absolutely, but I’d love it if they’d have put in at least one example of his lines that are actually in iambic pentameter. Because now I can’t stop thinking of Shakespearean Solas. Doing sonnets. For Lavellan and lost/unrequited love.
