but morrigan is full of shit she was literally FIGHTING all of these people off to foster that old bastard while simultaneously being like "UGHHHH since NOBODY wants the ODOROUS wretch i guess i shall take him. his stench has grown nigh intolerable in his age but since NOBODY else will have him i suppose i shall"
and like, everybody that knew morrigan and/or rinda even a little bit knew it was because thats rinda's dog. it became even more obvious when the years after DAI began to pass and rinda never returned, and the chantry declared her dead
but while leliana closed herself off in grief, morrigan has maintained persistent denial that rinda is dead but has also become suspiciously attached to her dog that she said she didnt want. she has a ramp in her bedroom for him climb in with her at night. carefully wrapping his medicine in strips of pork. holding his face in a private moment and rubbing his ears while she kisses his fully-whitened muzzle, because thats what rinda did every night in camp before she went to sleep. sending kieran letters while hes traveling with the dog that say shit like when shall i expect you and rabbit to be returning home. could you inform him i have the meatiest of turkey bones waiting for him
