These two mean everything to me
Not to harp on about a DLC character of all things, but my god was Shale ahead of their time.
Seamlessly tied into the lore and story of the game.
Gave us a dwarven companion that wasn’t ….him….
What I truly adore about Shale is their embrace of their body. It would have been so easy for the writers to shoehorn in body dysmorphia for the one (formerly) female character without an hourglass figure, but they didn’t!!!!
Shale adored their gemstones and decorated their body happily. Openly discussed enjoying their stone form, the practicality of it, how beautiful they thought it was. They don’t mourn their old form or gender, because it was Shale that chose to change in the first place.
As a woman that’s always been stronger and larger, god I adore Shale. Every time I find myself sucking in my stomach I remind myself of them. That I too possess the strength and snark capable of throwing stones and looking wonderful. They are not mutually exclusive.
“Let us crush heads, that is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?”.
Finally updated my DAO sticker designs. I'll be doing awakening next and veilguard soon after.
Alistair: So tell me something… do you feel pain? When you get hit in combat?
Shale: This is when it squeals loudly and spurts blood about? This is when it feels pain?
Alistair: Uh… maybe? I've seen you take some bad hits. Don't you feel anything?
Shale: Anger. Rage, even. Perhaps a little distress. Is this pain?
Alistair: I'm not sure. I don't think I'd call it distress, exactly. It's more…*dramatic shrieks*
Shale: For me, it is more… *dramatic groan*
Alistair: That sounds more like a bowel movement. I mean that sharp, stabbing… *dramatic shrieks* Like that?
Shale: No. Nothing like that
Alistair: No? Huh. Good to know
Day 10: Adaia Would be Proud
(Leliana x Faelyn Tabris)
After being freed from his capture by Tevinter slavers, Cyrion Tabris allows his daughter to herd all of her new friends into their tiny apartment. He never expected to see his daughter alive again, let alone see her love again.
