Banished from his home and recruited by Varric Tethras, Rook finds himself traveling all over Thedas as they hunt down the elusive Fen'Harel. From Kirkwall to Rivain to Nevarra and beyond, Rook and his companions chase after an ancient relic, one they hope will lure the Dread Wolf out of the shadows.
Varric knows this relic and he is quick to warn the others of its dangers. Dangers that soon appear in the form of a contact who has been murdered, a trail that leads right back into the heart of Tevinter, and a Venatori plans for a Tevinter reborn.

It seems strange to be starting a new journal in the middle of the year, but I was limited to what was in my pack when I left Minrathous, and, unfortunately, my current journal was not part of that. Varric decided we should stop in Treviso. While he ventured off to his meeting, I wandered around Treviso’s Grande Markets where I tracked down another. A great effort for something I could have gone without, I suppose – how many people keep a journal of their adventures these days? – but it is a habit (certainly not my worst) born from my years serving in the Legion, so how can I not? And, after the way things ended in Minrathous, I need something familiar to give me focus...
How could you send me away like that??
No. There is no point looking back. If my choices and actions in Nessum were the deciding factor, then I must accept it and move on. Papa always said a man must live by his choices and the results they bring, whether he likes them or not.
They certainly have brought an interesting future.
And here is my second fic for the 2026 Dragon Age Big Bang! This is a sequel to last year's DABB, Clipped Wings, Faded Dreams.

I also would like to shout out to @fiberpunk027 who suggested adding Fenris to Rook's story! It's been an adventure trying to capture his voice, but I think he brings a lot to the story and he quickly became a permanent fixture in Rook's world! I look forward to sharing more of his story in the future!!!
