Sacha took a slow and deep inhale as he stood at the center of Geumga Plaza. He smelled the thick oiliness of fried fish cake and the sweet, fermented tang of Tteokbokki. If he didn't carry a heavy suitcase he would go up first to get a late-afternoon snack. However, hoisting his luggage up the stairs would probably draw too much attention from the old women milling about the plaza grounds. They were already staring and whispering, obviously surprised to see such a burly foreigner.

Sacha had accepted an offer to take a temporary post here in Seoul. It was part of the Learning and Development team's project to help workers gain overseas experience, plus, to help the company gain more foreign stakeholders. He had some doubts about being able to pick up Korean in such a short time, but had been motivated by the possibility of getting new ideas for his stories whilst living in another country.

The landlord was supposed to meet him soon to do a building inspection and finalise the contract. Sacha checked his phone, reaffirming the time and place, and decided to find a more inconspicuous spot to wait rather than stand there like a flagpole. He dropped himself into a bench under the pavilion and folded his hands upon his lap, easily drifting into daydreams as his gentle eyes followed the passing wisps of clouds above.
