Luke and Ezra are given a baby doll during a temple crèche class. Ezra is like oddly good with the baby and takes it too seriously. Meanwhile Luke tries his darndest, his best. But when Ezra is doing meditation with Master Caleb Dume, Luke accidentally flung the baby doll off the temple balcony while he was doing a handstand . Luke just CRIES to Anakin, the baby doll pieces in his hands and Dadakin is just “say less” and he goes to work in the garage. The doll is as good as new by the time Ezra comes back. Ezra is suspicious about how the doll look nice and clean but just shrugs.

But Leia filmed the whole disaster and is now used as blackmail against Luke for certain circumstances.

I have a problem with Dadakin / Dad Vader / whatever. Like not the idea of him raising any of his kids (although if he did they will definitely have more issues than a newspaper library) but how he is written as a parent. When he is trying ofc... Like... where is the denial his kids are growing up?? Where is the weird fascination with every single thing they do?? Where is his wonder at having his kid babble at him?? wHeRe??? (No, this is not brought up to me by the hundred cute youtube shorts I watched about a dad and a mom and their babiii. Absolutely not.)

I want Anakin to deny that his children have to get a bigger bed, bigger clothes. I want him to play with them, baby talk at them, let them fix his hair. I want him to detest nap time because his babies will be asleep and he won't be able to play with them. I want the already fluffy family/kid fics to get 100 more fluffy and cavity inducing than they usually are.

I want first-time parent Anakin/Vader to act like a first-time parent with something more than just the neverending worry. I want the joy and wonder too, Force-damn it!
