The music was loud through the thin walls, basses resonating. The place smelt like alcohol, sweat and freshly lit cigarettes.
He stumbled a little as he removed himself from the crowd, dropping onto a nearby indoor bench, incapable of staying upright. He leaned forward, elbows on a small wooden table, pretending to rest while his eyes drifted towards the scene, towards you.
You were moving with the music, in the middle of the bar, unbothered by the sea of equally drunk bodies. Dancing like nothing in the world really mattered. He smiled to himself, his cheeks warming, his chest feeling too full, like something pressing against his ribs.
Then your smile faltered.
You slowed, scanning the mass of people with a growing knot of panic, scared he’d left you. But after a few seconds, you spotted him, already watching you with soft eyes.
You pushed through the crowd, relief washing over you, until you were standing in front of him. Close enough that you could feel each other’s warmth.
“There is my pretty boyfriend.” you said, your hands instantly coming to his face, brushing off a few strands of hair from his face. “Are you okay ? I thought I lost you. Do you need water ? You look like you’re about to pass ou-“
“I’m fine, I think I drank too much though.” he admitted, hands sliding to your hips, pulling you closer. “Just needed to rest a little. I missed you.”
You softened, hands dropping to his shoulders. “How much did you drink” you asked, fond but worried.
“Just a little..” he grinned.
Before you could scold him again, he tugged, and before you realised it, you were already on his lap, his arms wrapping further around you.
“You’re unbelievable,” you laughed. “You can’t just pus-“
He kissed you. Careful not to hurt you in his clumsiness, but also messy and full of affection, like he had so much love and nowhere else to give it.
You melted into it anyway, fingers going to his hair, laughter dissolving into soft sounds against his mouth.
His body responded before his mind could, unintentionally bucking his hips upwards. You let out a quiet whimper at the sudden movement.
He froze, eyes wide. Pulling back just enough to look at you. “Oh my.. I’m so so sorry !” he started.
You burst out laughing “I really can’t believe you..”
He laughed too, hiding his face in the crook of your neck “I wasn’t trying to I swear…”
“It’s fine.” you kissed his lips, just a peck “Wanna go home ?” you asked, tilting your head.
“Please.” his answer was instant.
He stood too fast, laughing as you tried to steady him, lacing your fingers with his and pulling him after you.
The ride was quiet, but the air felt heavy. He sat close not daring to touch you beyond his knee brushing yours with every turn the car took.
You unlocked the door, his arms already wrapping around you from behind. “You’re so clingy” you whispered.
The moment the door opened, he was all over you, pressing your back against it, kissing you hungrily.
Your hands came up to his chest, sliding down until your fingers caught the hem of his shirt. You broke the kiss just long enough to pull it over his head, fast and impatient, before he lifted you effortlessly and carried you to the nearest surface, the couch.
He sat down, drawing you onto his lap once again, his mouth finding your neck. His teeth grazed your skin, leaving marks behind.
Your fingers worked quickly at the buckle of his belt, the soft clink of it hitting the floor barely registering, soon followed by his pants and your skirt.
His clothed cock rubbed against your lace underwear, seeking the smallest bit of friction. His hands roamed up your sides, like he was trying to memorise every curves.
Pre-cum stained his boxer, your own arousal dampening between your legs.
He caressed your inner thigh, brushing against your core before dipping his hand into your panties, fingers sliding through your slick.
Your back arched, mouth falling open as a broken moan escaped you. “You’re so good to me” he murmured into your ear before biting the sensitive skin there.
His lips claimed yours, knocking the breath out of your lungs while his fingers kept working you open.
“Daeyoung.. I need you, please.” you managed between heated kisses.
“That much ?” he asked, pulling his fingers free and bringing them to his mouth, licking them clean.
You pressed a small peck to his lips. “May I ?”, you nodded to his aching dick. He only nodded back, not just consent but surrender.
With his hands still wet, he reached for your bag nearby and pulled out a bottle of lube, spreading some along his length.
You lifted yourself slightly, pushing your panties aside and lining yourself up before sinking down slowly.
“Holy fuck, you’re tight y/n..” he breathed, head falling back against the couch.
It took you a few moments to adjust to the stretch before you began to move.
Your fingers dug into his shoulders, helping yourself up and down. Soon, he matched your rhythm, hips bucking to meet yours.
Daeyoung’s restrained growls dissolved into breathy moans, your voice repeating his name like a mantra.
Heat coiled low in your stomach, your legs trembling as you were pushed to the edge.
The final and shaky sigh that slipped past your lips was enough to send him over with you.
You slumped against him, body shaking, heart racing.
The silence was broken only by uneven breathing as his arms pulled you closer. “You did so well” he murmured.
He lifted you carefully, still holding you, slipping free before setting you back onto his lap.
a/n: first post... on here... a bit scared...... but i love jaehee, so this is for the loml <3
you and jaehee aren’t close.
he’s the kind of guy everyone knows, even if they’ve never talked to him. smart, good-looking without trying, talented in just about everything he touches. the type who’s always surrounded by people, part of sion’s clique, the loudest and brightest stars in the school.
he walks the halls like he owns them, smiles like he knows the effect he has, and somehow still manages to look annoyingly humble about it all.
you, on the other hand, are content staying out of the spotlight. you’d rather sit in the back of the classroom, sketching absentmindedly in your notebook or staring out the window, than be anywhere near the kind of social whirlwind jaehee lives in. the two of you have never spoken. not once. not even a “hey” in passing.
still, you’d be lying if you said you’ve never noticed him.
how could you not? the way he laughs—carefree and warm, like he’s never had to fake it. the way his hair falls into his eyes when he’s focused, or how he always holds the door open for others without making a big deal out of it.
you wouldn’t call it a crush, not really. just a little eye candy. something harmless to look at when the school day drags on.
when your homeroom teacher announced the class field trip to the amusement park, you didn’t expect much. you figured it’d be a day of avoiding crowds, sticking close to your tiny circle of friends, and maybe trying a few rides if the lines weren’t too bad. nothing life-changing.
but as the days ticked down, the buzz in class grew louder.
everyone was talking about it—what they were going to buy, who they’d sit with on the bus, which roller coasters they were going to hit first. there were whispers of outfit matching and “accidental” pair-ups. even the shyest students were making plans.
you listened from the sidelines, quietly amused by the excitement. it felt like everyone had a role already, a scene they were stepping into. you were content staying in the background, maybe tagging along for some cotton candy, maybe hiding in the arcade when things got overwhelming.
the day of the trip finally arrives, warm and golden with early sunlight, the kind that makes everything feel just a little more exciting. the parking lot outside the school buzzes with energy—people laughing, comparing snacks, snapping blurry photos while they wait for the bus doors to open.
there’s a nervous kind of giddiness in the air, the kind that only comes with the promise of skipping class and spending the day somewhere far from routine.
you stand quietly near the edge of the group, backpack slung over your shoulder, watching the way the morning light hits the pavement. yoonchae nudges your arm gently, pulling you back to the present.
“are you sure you’re okay sitting alone?” she asks, brows drawn with a hint of concern. her other hand is already looped around megan’s arm.
you smile at her, soft and reassuring. “i’ll be okay. seriously.”
she studies you for a second longer, then nods. “okay. but text me if someone weird sits next to you.”
you huff out a laugh. “noted.”
the teacher starts calling everyone to board, clipboard in hand, and there’s a shuffle as students start climbing up the steps. you’re somewhere in the middle of the line, and when you finally step onto the bus, the cool blast of the AC hits your face.
you glance around and immediately spot an empty seat near the back, by the window—perfect.
you slide in, settling your bag at your feet, already turning your face to the glass as the world outside continues to blur with movement. you can hear the low murmur of conversations all around, laughter echoing faintly from the front, and yoonchae and megan’s voices chatting just in front of you.
you don’t expect anyone to sit next to you. honestly, you’re kind of looking forward to the solitude.
that is, until you hear someone clear their throat.
you blink, turning your head—only for your breath to hitch just slightly when you see jaehee standing there, backpack slung over one shoulder, a hand gripping the seat.
he gives you a hesitant, almost sheepish smile, his voice casual but a little too careful. “is anyone sitting here?”
you shake your head automatically, heart skipping a beat. “no. go ahead.”
he slides in beside you, the space between your arms almost non-existent in the tight bus seat. his leg brushes yours, warm even through the fabric, and you try not to stiffen. your fingers twitch slightly on your lap.
“i thought you’d sit with your friends or something,” you say, the words out before you can stop them.
jaehee chuckles, reaching up to ruffle his hair, like he’s trying to laugh off how awkward he feels. “riku said he’s sitting with someone else. totally ditched me.”
you hum, trying not to focus too hard on the way his shoulder leans just a little toward yours. “you could’ve sat with anyone.”
he tilts his head, eyes on you now. “why? do i make you uncomfortable?”
you turn to face him fully, eyes wide. “what?! no!” you shake your head quickly, cheeks heating. “i just… didn’t expect you to sit here, that’s all.”
he watches you for a second, like he’s trying to figure you out. then he smiles, a little more confident this time. “expect the unexpected.”
you laugh under your breath, tucking a stray strand of hair behind your ear. there’s a beat of silence—comfortable, but charged—and you reach into your pocket, searching for something.
your fingers come up empty.
“ugh,” you mutter.
jaehee glances over. “something wrong?”
“i think i forgot my earphones,” you sigh, leaning back against the seat. “guess i’ll just stare out the window dramatically for the next hour.”
he grins, pulling his own earphones from his pocket and holding them out to you. “we could share,” he says, eyes bright with something unspoken.
you look at him, surprised, heart fluttering at the simplicity of the offer—and how close he suddenly feels.
“only if you’re okay with me judging your playlist,” you tease, reaching for one of the buds.
“fair,” jaehee laughs, handing one over, your fingers brushing for a brief second too long.
as the bus rumbles to life and pulls away from the school, you settle into your seat with one earbud in, your shoulder barely brushing his. outside the window, the world blurs past in streaks of sun and motion.
when you step off the bus, the air hits you like a rush of freedom—warm, sweet, and humming with the scent of popcorn and something deep-fried. you stretch your limbs, arms high above your head, shaking off the stiffness from the ride.
all around you, students are laughing, forming little groups, already pointing excitedly at roller coasters twisting through the sky.
your teacher stands at the front of the group, trying to wrangle everyone’s attention with a loud clap. “alright, listen up! stay in groups, don’t wander off alone, and for the love of all things holy, don’t do anything that’ll get the school banned from coming back!”
a few kids laugh. someone whoops. the moment feels light, buzzing.
you’re about to follow the flow of people heading toward the park entrance when you hear your name.
“y/n!”
you turn on instinct, blinking as jaehee jogs up to you, a little breathless, like he’d been debating whether to say anything at all. his hair's slightly windblown from the bus ride, his backpack slung haphazardly over one shoulder, and for a second, he looks less like the golden boy everyone admires and more like a regular teenager—nervous, hopeful, real.
“uh,” he starts, rubbing the back of his neck. “i—if you don’t mind… do you wanna hang out with me today?”
you stare at him for a beat too long, brain struggling to catch up. the background noise of your classmates seems to fade out a little, replaced with the thundering of your own heartbeat.
did jaehee just…?
you clear your throat quickly, hoping you don’t sound as flustered as you feel. “sure. i don’t mind.”
his eyes light up instantly, and it’s so obvious—so bright and boyish—it knocks the air out of you for a second. he looks like a puppy who just got told he’s a good boy.
you giggle, trying to hide how much your heart is doing somersaults. “we should get headbands to start off,” you say, voice playful. “you can’t go to an amusement park without something ridiculous on your head.”
he laughs, more relaxed now, and lets you tug him toward the gift shop just near the entrance. the door chimes as you step inside, the air cool and filled with the scent of cheap candy and fabric softener. shelves are lined with silly accessories—glittery devil horns, floppy bunny ears, headbands with bouncy antennae and neon flowers.
you glance at him over your shoulder, already grinning. “pick your poison.”
he raises an eyebrow. “you’re not going to choose for me?”
“you’re brave enough to ask me to hang out. you can handle picking a headband.”
he chuckles under his breath, and for a second, your fingers brush as you reach for the same headband—a pair of soft puppy ears. you both pause, and you feel the air shift, just slightly. the kind of moment that lingers longer than it should.
“we could match,” he offers, voice a little softer now, his eyes on yours.
you look down at the ears in your hand, then back at him. “matching puppy ears. that’s dangerously close to couple-core.”
jaehee tilts his head, lips curving into something playful. “is that a bad thing?”
your heart skips. you don’t answer. not really.
you just hand him the second pair.
the two of you shuffle up to the counter, mid-argument about who should pay—jaehee dramatically clutching his chest like you’ve just insulted his honor, and you insisting it’s only fair to split.
“absolutely not,” he says, already fishing his wallet out like it’s a race against time. before you can protest, he slaps the cash down like he’s winning a game show.
you sigh, defeated but amused. “fine. next time, i’m paying. no arguments.”
“mmm, we’ll see,” jaehee says with a cheeky grin, adjusting his headband like it’s some sort of crown. “now then… where to, my loyal sidekick?”
you snort. “loyal sidekick?"
“exactly,” he chirps, skipping ahead like this was all part of his master plan.
the day’s a blur of rides and sugar—jaehee whining about the rollercoasters like they personally offended him, until you bribe him with snacks. lots of snacks. enough to feed a small village. or a very ambitious picnic.
“you’re evil,” he says, halfway through a corn dog. “you love it,” you grin, handing him a drink like the enabler you are.
by 4:30, your phone buzzes with a teacher’s message: be back by 5 or suffer unspecified consequences. so, with sticky fingers and stuffed pockets, the two of you start to wander aimlessly, cotton candy in hand.
“jaehee,” you say through a mouthful of sugar, your words slightly muffled.
he hums in response, licking powdered sugar off his thumb.
“why’d you hang out with me today?”
he freezes, like someone just paused his internal wifi. a faint pink creeps up his neck.
he clears his throat and mutters something that sounds like... a dying bee?
“sorry, what?” you ask, lips twitching into a smile at the sight of flustered jaehee, who is now aggressively pretending to be very interested in the ground.
you can’t help it—he looks so much like a kicked puppy that your heart actually squeezes.
“i thought,” he starts, louder now, “that this would be a good chance.”
you blink. “a good chance for what—?”
he exhales like he’s about to perform surgery. “i like you, y/n.”
you stop dead in your tracks. blink once. twice.
meanwhile, jaehee is firmly looking anywhere but at you. the sky. a trash bin. the back of his own hand.
you let out a soft chuckle and reach over, slipping your hand into his. jaehee’s breath hitches—his eyes dart down like he’s making sure it’s real—and for a second, he looks like he might just pass out right then and there.
but then, slowly, he laces his fingers with yours, his lips curling into the tiniest, sweetest smile. the air between you shifts—lighter and brighter, like something new and soft has finally settled in place.
you walk back toward the main plaza, still hand-in-hand, your steps a little slower now. neither of you says anything, but the silence is comfortable—like walking inside a shared secret.
you spot a photo booth tucked beside a drink stall, the kind with faded stickers on the side and flashing LED hearts around the frame.
“hey,” you nudge him, nodding toward it. “wanna take a picture?”
jaehee hesitates, eyes flicking between you and the booth like it might swallow him whole. but then he nods, cheeks a little pink. “only if you’re in it with me.”
inside, it’s cramped and warm, the kind of warm that makes your knees bump and shoulders touch. you’re quicker this time, sliding a coin into the slot before jaehee can even reach for his wallet.
the first picture catches you both mid-laugh, heads thrown back, joy written all over your faces. the second is a disaster—jaehee blinks too early and ends up with one eye half-open. the third is softer: you're leaning into each other, grinning, your cheeks still pink but your eyes bright.
and the fourth—he turns his head to look at you just as the camera flashes, catching him mid-gaze, eyes full of something you can’t quite name but feel all the same.
when you step out, your hands brush as you reach for the photo strip. you both go for the same corner, fingers barely touching, but the way your hands linger says everything.
“we look good,” you murmur, eyes scanning the tiny photos.
jaehee glances over, voice a little quieter. “we look like a couple.”
you smile, tilting your head toward him. “maybe that’s ‘cause we kinda are now.”
he looks at you, really looks at you, and then he laughs, soft and breathless, like he’s been holding it in for hours. “i can’t believe you said it first.”
you laugh too. “you confessed first.”
he shakes his head, the grin on his face wide and a little helpless. “we’re a mess.”
“a cute mess,” you correct.
and right there, under the golden light of a setting sun and the flickering neon hearts, he leans in—not quite a kiss, not yet—but his forehead rests gently against yours.
and it feels like the start of something really, really good.

“Do you seriously believe Mr. Lee and Mr. Na are secretly dating?”
“Yes, bro!” Sohee insists while you two approach the door.
“And what’s your proof?” You raise your eyebrow and Sohee gives you a cheeky smile in return before shifting his focus to unlocking the entrance.
more under the cut ۶ৎ
“There we go,” Sohee mumbles after a second and pushes the door open. You follow him into the house. You’ve visited twice since Sohee and Riku moved in about a month ago. Previously, they lived in an apartment that you have been to countless times, but recently they switched to a house not too far away from the school and the place where you and Sohee work at.
“Ignore all the shit, we’re still trying to organize somewhat.” You look around, the place isn’t messy, but not the neatest either. Some things definitely looked out of place. “Riku and Jaehee should be here by now,” he says as he’s placing down his work stuff, “I’ll go see if they’re in their rooms.” He soon leaves you by yourself in the kitchen. The kitchen itself is pretty small, there’s dishes in the sink and random objects on the counter, like a tennis ball right next to a cereal box. Before you can inspect any further, you hear footsteps and turn your attention to where they were coming from. You immediately see a young, tall, slender man. He seemed almost.... puppy-like in a way. This must be Jaehee, you think to yourself..
“Oh- you must be Y/n!” he exclaims. Not even a second later, both Riku and Sohee walk in.
“Yup! That’s her.” Riku says.
“I am so sorry about your daughter, miss!” the man apologizes.
“Oh no, it’s alright! It wasn’t your fault.”
“I know, but I still feel really bad,” he blushes.
“Well Y/n, this is me and Riku’s roommate and long time friend, Kim Jaehee,” remarks Sohee.
“Hi, pleased to meet you, I’m Y/n L/n,” you extend your hand forward to shake his.
Jaehee takes your your hand and shakes it, giving you a warm smile too, “Nice to meet you as well Ms. L/n.” His hand lingers on yours for a few seconds too long, looking you in the eyes until Riku suddenly starts talking.
“Well now that my besties have met, lets do something!”
“Oh yes!” Sohee agrees.
“I don’t think right now is the best time, I need to go see Isa,” you say, “she’s at Irene’s right now.”
“Irene as in Reve Elementary's principal?” Jaehee’s eyes fill with curiosity.
“Yes! We’re friends and neighbors, so she’ll sometimes bring Isabella home for me.”
“Y/n’s friends with half the staff at Reve.” Riku butts in and takes a bite of the banana he suddenly has in his hand.
“Where the fuck did you get a banana?” Sohee questions.
“From the pantry,” he responds nonchalantly.
“Why the fuck was there a banana in the pantry?” Sohee continues. You check your phone, noticing the time.
“I should probably get going, I don’t want to leave Irene with Isa all afternoon.”
“Awww.” Riku pouts, clearly wanting you to stay a bit longer.
“I can visit again one of these days.”
“Yay!”
You say your goodbyes to the three of them and just as you are walking out, Jaehee calls out your name, you turn and come face to face with him once again.
“Yes?”
“Again, I’m super sorry about Isabella, I didn’t-” you cut him off before he can finish.
“Stop apologizing, it’s okay, I know you didn’t mean for anything to happen. So stop blaming yourself, please Jaehee.” Jaehee pauses for a second and then nods.
“Thanks for forgiving me.”
“Of course. Now I’ve got to go, see you soon, probably, bye.”
“Goodbye.” Jaehee says to you and closes the door once you’re out.

female mc x boy best friend jaehee (who secretly likes her)
genre: college au, short story, ficlet, slow burn, (slight) angst, fluff
status: done
major characters: reader (as fmc), kim daeyoung (jaehee), zhong chenle
the mc serves as an insert for the reader but could also be read as her own character
A/N: i saw jaehee's finding psyche teaser pics back in feb and thought "damn he looks like the unassuming boy best friend that secretly likes you" and it rewired my brain so after the semester ended, i immediately wrote it. i can't write second-person pov, so just imagine the mc as reader: same difference. also, i used chenle as another major character and not another wish member because they're jaehee's friends here, though not highlighted much.

You had promised yourself you wouldn’t be shy around your boyfriend this morning. Sleeping over in the same bed as your boyfriend for the first time since you had started dating was definitely a step forward in your relationship, but you were determined to make the step as natural and seamless as possible. There was no need to make a big deal out of it. You had been dating for several months now; you were more than passed the flustered stage. Waking up in his arms shouldn’t affect you that much, right?
It had been nice being able to talk in soft whispers with Daeyoung until you fell asleep snuggled against his chest. You often felt lonely in your apartment at night, so you would FaceTime him until one of you fell asleep on call. But actually falling asleep in his arms was infinitely better than just seeing him on your phone screen.
His warm breath, deep but soft voice, soothing scent, and beautiful face being the last thing you felt, heard, smelled, and saw was something your brain would never forget. For it being your first time sleeping over, it had definitely been nothing short of perfect.
But now you had a predicament. You felt more nervous to open your eyes than you had anticipated. Would he already be awake? What if he was staring at you with that lovesick expression he always wore? You were sure you would be as bright as a tomato if he was.
You could still feel the warmth of his body, and his left arm wrapped gently around your waist. He was awfully still, so you weren’t sure if he was awake yet or not. Wanting to find out, you slowly opened your eyes, preparing yourself for a sight that would almost certainly make you fall in love all over again.
And it did.
Daeyoung had never told you that he wore glasses in the morning before putting in his contacts. In fact, you had never seen him wear glasses at all during your relationship. You always planned when to meet up, so he had time to get ready properly, including switching out his glasses for the much less noticeable vision correctors.
You were vaguely aware that he owned a pair, but asking him to model them for you hadn’t ever been a thought on your mind. Daeyoung was already hot, so naturally, you had never thought of how much hotter he might look with glasses. Well, you knew now. The black framed glasses paired with his sleepy pout and messy bed head was probably the most adorable and attractive sight you had ever woken up to. Once he saw that you had opened your eyes, he smiled, suppressing a yawn as he mumbled out a good morning. God, his morning voice.
Yes, you had promised yourself that you wouldn’t be shy around your boyfriend this morning. And you were utterly failing at that task. Nervous butterflies were fluttering like crazy in your stomach, and your face already felt hot from just the close distance of you two.
“Did you sleep well?” Daeyoung whispered. You could feel his fingers fiddling with the hem of your T-shirt, smoothly slipping under the fabric to stroke your warm skin.
“You’re…” You started talking in a daze, not even realising what you were about to say until you saw Daeyoung raise his eyebrow.
“Hm?”
“You’re wearing glasses.” You whispered, burying your face in the pillow to hide your embarrassment. Although, you were unable to take your eyes off your boyfriend.
“Yeah…? Why’d you mention it?” He questioned sleepily. You cleared your throat, hoping he would drop the inquiry, but he seemed focused on waiting until you answered him.
“They look hot— you, you look hot.” You muttered, stumbling over your words the longer you looked at him wearing those glasses, your brain entirely short-circuiting.
Daeyoung smiled, “Is that why you’re so shy this morning?”
“No— no, actually, I was never awake in the first place. See, I’m asleep still.” You whispered hurriedly, shutting your eyes tightly and earning a giggle from your boyfriend. You felt him brush your hair off of your forehead and press a kiss to the skin once he had access. Your breath caught in your throat. Why was everything that he normally did flustering you so much this morning?
“Y/n?” He whispered, making you open your eyes again. He gave you a lazy smile, the same hand that had brushed your hair moving to the side of your face, cupping your cheek, stroking your cheekbone.
There was something mesmerising about Daeyoung wrapped up in the blankets, glasses over his sleepy eyes, the sun just starting to shine through the window onto his face, his cute lips that you wanted to kiss so badly, imagining how soft they would feel early in the morning.
His hand shifted from your face, trailing down your arm until it reached your waist. From there, he pulled you closer to his body, trapping you there with his leg. There was nothing stopping you from kissing him now that the distance between you two was almost nonexistent. And, you were getting shier by the second under his eyes, so you were quick to press your lips to his instead.
Daeyoung gasped at your sudden action, but was quick to melt into the kiss, pulling you ever closer, heart warmed by his love for you. He made a mental note to wear glasses more often, quite liking the outcome of it despite having discovered it accidentally.
Mornings like this were perfect, he decided. He knew the natural progression of a relationship was a delicate thing, but he was starting to wonder why he had never asked you to sleep over before this. He couldn’t even count how many mornings it would have saved him from missing your presence more than life. You felt the same way, finding the opportunity to wake up in Daeyoung’s arms too good to pass up again.

Every friday ; same time, same corner, same drink, you went to the library where Daeyoung worked part-time at. You’d shared a few classes despite the different degrees — communication, international law and that hell of business’ group project he was so serious about it made you roll your eyes.
After sighing countless of times about how stupid the course you were studying looked, you decided to bother him as he was putting newly-received books on a shelf,
“Hi Daeyoung, would you mind helping me with that class I’m struggling with? I heard you’re pretty good there…”
It did take a moment to realise you were talking to him before he finally nodded and followed you.
“What class is that ?”
You gently tapped on a chair on your left, asking him to sit down next to you.
“Marketing..” you sighed one more time, which made him giggle quietly making you smile.
“So I have my lectures notes right? But there’s that chapter about social responsibility with about 8 pages and, if I am being honest with you, in my life I will never ever read all that. If you could basically just shorten it for me? It should be a cup of tea for you, shouldn’t it?” you followed up, making your famous begging-look everyone would instantly fall for, which Daeyoung indeed did.
He hummed, pushing his glasses a bit further before starting to read the document and taking notes.
After a little longer of you sipping your coffee, sketching on your notebook, looking at him, and almost falling asleep, he finally looked back at you, waking you up instantly.
“So ..?” you asked impatiently.
“So it’s basically explaining that, it’s about companies taking care of people, society and the environment while doing business. It means being ethical — treating workers fairly, avoiding harm in production and being honest in advertising. It also means thinking about the planet, like using sustainable materials or reducing waste. It helps building trust within customers but also improving their reputation.”
“You’re a life saver… Though I have a few questions, I hope this won’t bother you. So like, if companies say they care about society and the environment, does that mean they’re actually doing it or is it just for PR? Because I feel like every brands ever post about saving the planet but then you know, the stuff we buy is still terrible for the environment. And what about workers? I read somewhere that some factories pay like nothing and make people work crazy hours, so how do companies make sure they’re actually ethical? And sustainable materials… I don’t even know where to start with th—“ as you continued your endless rambling, looking at your laptop and your notebook, he started losing focus. Time starting to slow down. His eyes naturally focused on the way your lips moved at every words, your eyes blinking every 6 seconds and your brows furrowing when you were thinking a little too deeply. But also how your vanilla-scented perfume filled the small space, and how soft your hair looked under the dimmed light.
His thoughts got cut off when he suddenly couldn’t hear you anymore, you, noticing how he wasn’t listening, making you pout slightly.
“Did i talk too much? Aah~ I’m sorry daeng.. Got really lost in my words,”
“No– no it’s okay, I was listening I– I promise, I’m a little tired today, I didn’t mean to and your voice is really soothi—“ he tried to explain himself while moving his hands abruptly, his glasses falling on his lap from it, getting cut off by the sudden.
“Daeyoung..” you laughed, “It’s okay.. It happens” you added as you picked his glasses up from him “oh! I like your glasses, can I try them on?”
He smiled softly and nodded, looking at you fondly when you put them on. “How do I look?” you say grinning widely.
“Gorgeous is not even enough of a word to describe it” the boy replied, amused.
You removed the glasses shyly, putting them back at his original place, his face. You were being so gentle, as if touching porcelain, even slow, it almost felt intimate.
Daeyoung started blushing at how careful you were being, not to hurt him. As the glasses were finally sitting right, you stayed close, too close but not enough to justify stepping away without it being obvious.
Your fingers still holding the hinges of his glasses, grazing his temples with your fingers unintentionally.
He doesn’t say anything, only swallowing, his smile fading into something quieter, like he’s waiting but not daring.
Your breaths sync, he leans in without really realizing it, barely an inch and, he stops.
She notices and shifts slightly, brushing his cheek, just adjusting her grip. Her gaze flips to the lower side of his face, back up to his eyes and once again to his lips.
Daeyoung tilts his head slowly, not to startle you, and kisses you. So barely, almost like a test, your lips barely touching.
Embarrassed, he laughs breathily, starting to apologise again but shortly cut off by your lips placing on his once again.
This time more sure, more confident. His glasses fogging a little by the sudden heat. You, tilting your head slowly, giving him more access, him, mirroring the movement.
Your hands moving to the back of his neck, drawing him closer, making him shiver, almost whimpering. The kiss deepens slightly, lingering, delicate yet urgent.
Suddenly, someone clears their throat nearby. Reality snaps in, resulting in you both pulling apart flustered, but smiling, like two idiots.
The tension stays, nevertheless, it settles even, warmer, like promising something later, something new.
