A dismissive shrug of the shoulders and he focused his gaze on the girl. ❛ Sorry, I'm just not made for being alone, that’s all... I guess. ❜ he excused himself, words accompanied with a little bow of his head; then, he gifted her a sincere smile. Truth be told, he was unsure if what he said even made sense; but grim or heavy talks like that were anything but his forte, that tad of dramatic tone lingering on his tongue till now dissipated with a bright squinting of his eyes, at the next bigger smile curving and reddening his cheeks. ❛ Not that being alone can’t be nice ! -- don’t you think. ❜

Silence. The evening draws to an end. Nightis creeping its way into every houses, every rooms, every mind. Some gave in to it, and some others, stronger willed, would course through the night unnaffected.
Steiner was among them, of course. Ever watching, ever patience, a far cry from his youth, so brash, so arrogant, so full of his own believed invicibilty.
Oh, how Steiner missed these days, sometime. And how does steiner remembers all too well the tempering that ensued, nearly soul breaking, but of whom he came back stronger, accepted as a Pluto knight's captain for his efforts.
Lost in his introspection, he would barely miss a certain princess emerging from another corner of the castle.
"Oh, Princess garnet." He would greet her, kneeling down in respect. "Is there anything I can do for you ?I was not expecting you awake at such an hour."
--- It was surprising, now more than ever, that she would grace them with her presence. Understandable, of course, that she kept away. She was a busy busy woman now, was she not? Besides, it could be said that a princess... Nay, a queen really couldn’t be seen consorting with his sort, right? Still, upon her approach, the taller male would do little more than hold out a fresh mug of coffee. Freshly brewed, of course, but not by him. Oh goodness no, never by him. Too much of a chance to ruin the brew and waste the roast. Best to leave it to Cinna, right? Save him getting an earful from the smaller male at the very least.
“You good?” the only words to be spoken, a sip from his own mug taken thereafter.
@daggerr inquired: “ is that what i think it is ? “
↳ random question prompts !!
“ i mean, i dunno. it’s a pen, i guess. though, i’ve been told that pens are mightier than the sword - ever heard that expression? i mean, pens aren’t mightier if we’re gonna talk logistics - a sword could slash you down in one hit. “
he twirls the pen - an inking one, of course - in between his fingers. such expert skill, he ought to be lauded for such incredible precision of movement. he stops after a few moments, though, nearly hypnotizing himself with the blurred brown of the pen’s body. he turns back to the girl, who seemed skeptical that something called a ‘ pen ‘ could even exist, but perhaps there was more to her skepticism than met the eye.
one would have to find out, in the end, wouldn’t they?
“ though maybe this pen is lethal. think about it. some people may be deathly allergic to ink. press the thing into their skin, and bam. “ he smacks his arm with his hand, a loud slapping noise reverberating through the air. “ that’s the end of that. “
he shrugs, flippant, of course, about the nature of his own words. he meant none of it, of course. it was all a joke. a jape. and he had the smile to match.
“...though the likelihood of that happening is pretty much zero, so here we are. basically just use it to write or draw stuff and in the end the sword will still cut you in half. but you... probably know that already, huh. “
but in his other hand, he held his smartphone; immaculate as always, and powered off. black screen, endless possibilities.
“ ...or were you referring to something else on my person? like, this magical device for example? ‘cause i tell you what, it has some amazing abilities... teleportation, for one. just say the word, and it’ll take you there. so i’m told, of course. “
