overly competitive snowball fight btwn core four! in teams where it's 2 vs 2
Jay cracked his knuckles in a way that Evie just knew he’d seen in a movie. “Looks like we’ve got a problem, here.”
Yep. Evie rolled her eyes so hard it was painful. “Oh, do we, now?” She replied, jutting her chin out and letting her eyes fall on him with a certain amount of challenge.
Carlos pressed a hand to his forehead like he had a headache. “Really?”
It was then that a snowball slammed directly into his face before he could react, and Mal could be heard cackling across the field. They were already getting stares from the Auradon kids, but Evie couldn’t bring herself to care.
Carlos wiped water from his face and glared at Mal. “Okay, bastard, you are on-”
“Looks like what this school needs is a good old fashioned snowball fight,” Evie smirked, examining her nails to look casual.
“Isle style.” Mal demanded, and everyone nodded in agreement.
“Let’s do this.” Jay announced, and it was as good as saying the word ‘go’. Carlos and Evie fell in together, ducking behind a snowbank. Mal and Jay didn’t have any immediate cover, and Carlos took the opportunity to throw two icy snowballs at them, whooping in triumph when they both slammed into Mal and Jay’s sides.
Mal and Jay groaned and then ducked behind the picnic table of AKs, who were staring at them with expressions ranging from annoyed to amused. “Crafty.” Evie muttered. “They know we’ll try not to hit the AKs-”
“You might care, but I don’t!” Carlos laughed, and Evie watched as a snowball sailed two inches from Doug’s face and hit Mal directly on her collarbone. Doug reeled back so far, he fell onto his rear end in the snow, and Evie devolved into a fit of giggles.
Swept up in the mirth, she packed some snow into a ball and threw it at Jay, hard. It sailed over Ben’s head, causing him to startle like a cat, and hit Jay in the face. Carlos’ victorious scream of “HEAD SHOT!” rang out in the park.
Jay, abandoning the picnic table plan, came sprinting at them both. Carlos squawked, and both him and Evie took off running. Mal rounded on them from the front, though, and as they desperately tried to skid to a stop, Jay dumped an armful of snow on them from above.
They fell onto the snow, screaming and laughing from the cold, and Evie wanted to be mad about how smudged her makeup must be and how ruined her hair was, but she couldn’t stop giggling at Carlos next to her, glaring up at Jay, soaking wet, and looking distinctly like a drowned cat.
“Using your height to your advantage isn’t fair!” He complained.
“Just take the L, pup.” Jay retorted, grinning.
Mal rolled her eyes and offered Evie a hand up. “C’mon, idiots, we need to get them inside before the losers get sick.”
Evie took her hand, gracefully pulling up to her feet. “Of course you would find a way to gloat, even while trying to seem humble.”
“What can I say? I’m a talent.” She grinned. Evie scoffed.
“Can you two stop flirting?” Carlos shivered. “I’m freezing.”
“If we get hypothermia, I blame you.” She shot Jay an unamused look.
He just rolled his eyes, muttering something singsong under his breath that sounded suspiciously like “sore losers,”
She was smiling as she turned her head away, leading the charge toward the school doors.
