💖 Hi there! Ballad of a Mercher's Son absolutely is going to be updated, I promise. I know it's been a little over a year now, which haunts me, but it's not been without reason. 2025 turned out to be a very difficult year and I came into 2026 with some medication issues that left me dealing with some adverse side effects that I just chalked up to stress for... way too long. But good news, that was recently resolved, so I am feeling a lot better. Bad news is simply that soooo many things have piled up...

I've been working through the backlog, and I am happy to say that Ballad is one of my top priorities for updates this summer. I've been talking about it with friends behind the scenes, and I plan to return to it this month, so while I won't give any promises on when I'm going to update, I will say that it's coming. I never gave up on it, I just had to take an unexpectedly long break to deal with my life and health, that's all.

Thank you so much for reaching out! It's always heartening to know people are still reading, enjoying, and waiting on this story despite the long wait for an update. It's one of my favourite things I've written and I intend to come back to it with every bit as much passion as I began it.

I love asking people how their parents met. You always get an interesting reply. My best friend’s parents met on the relatively new internet in 1999. My other friend’s parents met at Burger King when one was the manager and the other was a regular customer. My parents met at the beach because they were neighbors in their rental houses, mom was on a church trip and dad was getting blackout drunk every night with his friends next door.

ok sorry to double reblog BUT I just looked him up and he does these fantastic videos where he breaks down HOW he actually mimics the other artists’ styles. Like for ed Sheeran, he explains how he brings his voice forward in the mouth, while Adam Levine sings in the back of the mouth, stuff like that.
