I thought that to help myself, I’d start posting here what I eat day-to-day and how I exercise. I follow Slimming World so will try to divide food into free/speed/syns categories. Also, as I’m a Scouser, the menu will be divided using Northern vernacular: breakfast, dinner and tea.
Also, I don’t know why I’m writing this as if I’m talking to someone. Literally 0 people follow me, smh
Today’s breakfast was shite, in all honesty: two Hecks ‘super slim sausages’ (3 syns) and some baked beans. Low fat sausages taste like cardboard, and being a university student I’ve already eaten enough beans this year to gas up a family-sized car. I’ve always struggled with breakfast, as I prefer the continental stuff (AKA I fucking love pastry) but hate porridge and any cereal that’s remotely acceptable on Slimming World. Sorry for the depressing start.
A light lunch for me, seems as I felt like I was going to puke after doing exercise for the first time in two weeks. Some carrot batons, yellow pepper, and cherry tomatoes, plus one and half cream crackers with some light spread (3 syns for the cracker, 1.5 for a tsp of spread). This is a very boring first day, soz :(((
Roast dinner time! Potatoes! Veg! Yorkshires! Gravy! Pigs in blankets! Crackling! Fun!
Not for me today though lol. Still feeling a bit guilty from going on holiday last week and hard-lining prosecco with the twirls for 7 days, so I stuck to two pieces of lamb with carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, gravy (1.5 syns) and a single potato cooked in frylight. FML. I promise it will get better from tomorrow.
I brightened up my *very* boring day with 4 Daim Mikado sticks (2 syns) and various cups of tea using my 350ml of skimmed milk as a healthy extra A, as well as a conference pear. Delightful. No HEXB for me today, because I couldn’t be bothered going to Tesco.
So, about exercise: I try to do at least 3 gym classes a week plus some exercise at home. I got back into my old at-home routine today which consists of the following:
3 HIT circuits using the ‘7′ workout app: These are seven-minute long exercise routines which consist of 12 lots of 30-second bursts of activity, followed by 10 second rest intervals. The app is free to download, but to access all of the circuits you need to pay £1.99. Today I did the fat burner, belly burner and full body workouts.
A resistance band workout: Resistance bands are my favorite pieces of exercise kit, and I found an online workout which I enjoy doing and which burns between 250-300 calories: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkq0-jvz1Dc&t=1166s
According to my fitbit, I burned 432 calories doing this.
I am by NO means a fitness fanatic (I hate movement) but used to dance a lot when I was younger, and still enjoy dancing at university. Therefore, throughout the week I vary the classes I go to between Zumba, Clubbercise, Kettlebells, Legs, Bums & Tums (a killer) and Yoga.
Well that’s day one done. Just 199 to go...
Ending the day on 11 syns!
