17.01.2017 | Katakana...we meet again...you are a worthy adversary 🙃I'm just going through the Japanese basic lessons again and making sure I've got all my bases covered. In Mandarin I'm enjoying the fact that there's so much reading and writing with the characters as well as the pinyin. It is decided - I'm dropping Korean. I was doing my planning and I realised that I only have as much time as I have right now because I'm on a mental health break. When term starts up again it'll be manic. So once I finish these textbooks I'm going to look into working towards passing the HSK Level 1/2 and JLPT N5/4. That way I'll have something concrete to mark this year's progress. If I rose a level each year I'd be so happy - we shall seeeeee :)
10.01.2017 | Memrise app study. Since I've finished the Japanese 1 & Chinese 1 course I'm just writing up the vocabulary in my squared notebooks - there's more space in there to go back and add characters/Kanji/notes/etc. Plus going through the Chinese and Japanese vocabulary made me realise that I'm being too harsh on myself when it comes to Korean. I repeatedly wrote down words that I now feel are easy, but at the time remembering felt like I'd never get down in my mind. It'll take time but once I'm finished with Korean 1, I'm sure I'll feel just as confident. If only I was this dedicated and patient with my actual studies...sigh.
15.01.2017 | Memrise app study. Finished Mandarin Chinese 1 review and started on Mandarin Chinese 2! I was itching to get started but I can feel a massive learning curve up ahead... Still working through Japanese 1 but I should be finished soon. As for Korean 1... sigh. The only remotely Korean thing that seems to be stuck in my head is the Full House OST and not even the Korean part 🎶 I think I love you...
12.01.2016 | Memrise app study. Continuing to review vocabulary for Japanese 1 & Chinese 1 - I'm itching to keep going but I'm also conscious that if I don't take time to review things it flies out of my head in like a month's time. Korean... why...why must you challenge me so?!?!? I'm kind of glad it is though because it's teaching me a valuable lesson in learning curves and persistence and just doing things for the love of it - no matter how much it leaves you scratching your head.

Dark Intrusion
~560 words; ~60 minutes
On one morning, at the end of summer, Terash finally found the ruins in the Frozen Wastes. At least, he was was pretty sure he had. It had taken him a total of fifteen individual treks out into the Wastes over several months, largely because the directions he’d received from Neetrin had been so vague. The snowy plains outside the Bubble were vast, after all, and none of the maps Teele had been able to discover from the Archive were particularly detailed. And after all that time spent out in the wastes, he didn’t even feel like he knew his way around them any better. The world beyond Hallium in every direction just looked the same: it was all a flat, white expanse of snow and jagged ridges of ice with scarce permanent landmarks of note.

Daily practise: The Seeress
Pisces: Cursed sight and Goddess Dagger; Can foresee the future. Chosen by the Moon Goddess to bear the burden of the world. Cursed Saggitarius unintentionally, and locked themselves due to being unable to control their powers. The Goddess Dagger is only used in defense and is used skillfully. User can wield Dark Magic. Many seek the Seer/Seeress to kidnap and abuse their power.
Today’s practise is a design on one of the amazing concepts about the signs and their magical weapons by Atmosa, who was kind enough to let me use them and practise character (and by extension, weapon) design. Thank you very much, I hope you like it!
I tried to add some amethysts into the design, since it is Pisces birthstone. Also I didn’t want to go full ‘HI I’M A FISH’, but still I tried to mantain a watery feeling.
More to come about these.
