(Y/n) crossed her arms and let out a sigh. It had been three days since she had talked to Dally. She toyed with the bracelet he had given her, he said that he had bought it, but (Y/n) knew that he had stolen it. Dally had walked into the Curtis house, he said a short greeting to the rest of the gang, but didn’t even glance at (Y/n). It wasn’t the first time Dally had acted like that, but (Y/n) was sick of him giving her attention, then pretending that she didn’t exist. She stood and walked of the house, not even saying “goodbye”. If he was going to ignore her, two could play that game. She went to her house, a few blocks away, went up to her room, and took off the bracelet. She held it in her hand, she hadn’t taken it off since he gave it to her. She set it down on her desk, turned off the light and went to bed. The next morning, (Y/n) left the house without looking at the bracelet. She walked over to the Curtis house, when she got there, Two-Bit was siting on the floor watching Mickey Mouse, (Y/N) sat down next to him. The duo had a morning ritual that consisted of: eating chocolate cake, drinking chocolate milk or beer, watching Mickey, and cuddling. Once she was situated, Two-Bit turned to her, “Where did you go last night? You missed Mickey.” Everyone in the house stopped and waited for (Y/n)’s answer, they all knew that she always watched Mickey with Two-Bit, both in the morning and at night. “Sorry Two, I didn’t feel well, so I went home” “You aren’t wearing your bracelet either, Dally is gonna be awful mad when he finds out” “Why? I shouldn’t have to wear it all the time” “Did something happen between you two?” “Nothing out of the ordinary, him pretending that I don’t exist. But it doesn’t matter, just drop it” (Y/n) looked up when she heard an award winning sigh come from Darry, he walked over to her and put a hand on her shoulder, “It does matter (Y/n), and if you’re not happy, I don’t think it’s worth it. Dally’s our buddy and all, but you deserve to be happy” (Y/n) just nodded, she knew that splitting was always an option when it came to being in a relationship with Dally, he was guarded, he would say it was for his rep, but it was really because he didn’t want another Sylvia. She lay her head on Two-Bit’s shoulder, and turned her attention to Mickey. When Dally entered the Curtis house, Darry, Soda, and Steve had all left for work. Dally greeted everyone before sitting down next to (Y/n). She didn’t respond to him like usual, holding his hand, laying her head on his shoulder. Secretly, she hoped that he would reach out to hold her, but she knew that it would never happen. Dally was surprised when (Y/n) didn’t acknowledge his presence, she just stayed leaned up against Two-Bit, he felt jealousy bubble up inside him, (Y/n) was his girl, and he was damn well going to prove it. He looked over at (Y/n) and noticed that she wasn’t wearing the bracelet her had given her. He frowned, she never took it off, not even to sleep or shower. He became angry thinking that a Soc stole it, but quickly dismissed the thought because (Y/n) didn’t have any bruises or any sign that she had been in a fight. “Where’s your bracelet?” The gang held their breath, they knew what was coming, but didn’t want the couple to fight. “At home” “And what’s it doing there?” “I didn’t feel like wearing it” “Why didn’t you feel like wearing it?” “You are asking too many questions! Why does it matter to you if I wear it or not? You don’t care about me anyway!” “Because it-... No never mind, it doesn’t matter to me” The gang sat in silence, the only sounds were from the television, and cars driving down the street. When Darry, Soda, and Steve came back to the house, the rest of the gang were still in the same positions. Darry had cooked dinner, and after dinner, Mickey was one. Eventually, one by one the gang called it a night and either went home or to bed. Soon it was just (Y/n) and Dally sitting in the living room. “Do you want to know why the bracelet matters so much?” (Y/n) didn’t answer, so he continued, “Because it makes me feel like I’m a major part of your life, even if I’m now with you, a part of me will keep you safe. It makes me feel like I matter to you” “Dally, you’ve always mattered to me, it’s me that doesn’t feel as though I matter to you” “Why?” “Because we go days without speaking to each other, usually because you won’t speak to me, and it’s like I don’t even exist” “I’m sorry...” “Are you really though? Tough Dallas Winston doesn’t say he’s sorry. If I mean so damn much to you why do you act like I’m the only person in the world one day, and the next act like I don’t even exist?” “I’m sorry, I really truly am. It’s just- I didn’t want to mess everything up, I figured out a long time ago that you aren’t anything like Sylvia and you’re like my whole damn world, and I didn’t want to ruin it all. I guess I did anyway” “You didn’t ruin everything, just promise me something?” “Sure” “Don’t ignore me like that ever again” “Only if you wear that bracelet everyday” “Promise” “Promise”
