You and Dally get caught in the rain and feelings are shared WordCount:806 Warnings:Nothing ReaderXDallas _______________________________________
Dallas walked me home from Buck's, his eyes fixated on the ground in front of us. He had been silent the whole time, his face hard with anger. He hadn't told me what was wrong but it didn't take a genius to figure out that his foul mood had something to do with Sylvia. I didn't want to add to his mood so I remained silent as well. Dally kicked at a rock on the ground, stopping in his tracks. The sky, which was a stormy as Dal's mood, chose that exact moment to open up and pour down on us.
"Well, ain't that how it goes," he growled, looking up into the sky as thunder rumbled over us. I looked around for anywhere to get us out of the weather, spotting a small awning over a store front several yards from where we stood.
"Come on," I sighed, grabbing his wrist and pulling him out of the rain. He pulled his hand from mine and crossed his arms over his chest as we stepped under the awning, turning to face the street as he leaned against the brick wall. He glared out over the rainy street, setting his eyes on a manhole cover in the middle of it. I sighed, hating to see him so upset. "Did you and Syl get into a fight?" He scoffed and shook his head. It was a dumb question. They were never not fighting.
"Skank's been steppin' out of me," he fumed, "again." I felt my gut twist and I shook my head, trying to process what he was telling me.
"Sylvia was cheating?" It honestly didn't surprise me, considering she hadn't thought of him as anything more than a greasy hood when we first met him. He ran his hands over his face as he nodded. I didn't know what to say, so I just leaned against the wall next to him. "I'm really sorry Dal," I sighed, looking over at him, scanning his face. "I swear I had no idea." He looked at me, his brown softening towards me a little as he searched my face, finding only sincerity.
"I know," he sighed, silently reaching for my hand as he looked back out at the street. His fingers were rough and felt like ice, sending shivers up and down my spine as his fingers wrapped around mine. It was the softest I had ever seen Dallas Winston and it made my heart race. I had to force myself to understand that it was just a friend reaching out to another for comfort. "Fuck did I choose wrong," he sighed under his breath, just barely audible over the torrent of rain pouring down around us. I pretended not to hear him, not wanting to embarrass him by asking him to explain. "I think it's really over between us."
"You deserve better than her, Dally," I said, giving his hand a light squeeze. He shrugged, letting go of my hand and pushing off the wall. He moved to stand at the edge of the awning, the toes of his boots on the edge of the gutter as he starred out into the street. I watched him for a moment before joining him, looking up at the side of his face instead of out at the street. "You deserve someone who respects you and doesn't think that just because your in the big house for a month means they can just step out." He set his jaw as I spoke, his eyes hardening again at my words. "I mean it Dal. You deserve a girl who loves you for everything you are. Flaws and all."
"I don't need anyone to love me, (Y/N)," he growled, making me frown.
"That's not what I said, Dallas," I argued. "I said it's what you deserve.” He turned to me and glared, his brow furrowing, making him look harder than I knew he felt at that moment. "And for the record, Dally," I said, changing the subject, "I never thought you and Sylvia were a great match." I turned to got back to leaning against the wall when he grabbed my arm, stopping me as he stepped to me, his arms wrapping around me as his lips crashed against my lips. After a moment of shock, I melted into the kiss, my arms wrapping around his neck, pulling myself up to him. When he pulled back, he was smirking at the dreamy look on my face.
"It's not what I need, (Y/N)," he said again, no malice in his voice. I swallowed hard and nodded, moving back to the wall and leaning against it. He leaned against it next to me and we waited for the rain to slow down before he continued to walk me home. His mood better than it had been before.
