I love how BS01 describes the roles of the members of the Voya Nui resistance

There's Garan, the leader. Balta, the second-in-command and a skilled tinkerer. Dalu, the team's best fighter. Velika, a Great Being in disguise and the team's inventor, even more skilled than Balta. Piruk, the spy, their eyes inside the Piraka stronghold.

And then there's Kazi. He's a realist. His job is to stand there and remind everyone how utterly boned they are.

They could have made him anything, he could have been a medic, or a hunter, or a scout, but no. His title is "realist." Not even an allusion to him being the secretive one who knows about Axonn before everyone else, no, Kazi is defined by how he makes sure the people around him remember their circumstances and don't have too good a time. Icon, honestly.

It's Christmas! Pohatu goes for an early morning run and fails to avoid thinking about Kopaka. Tahu's niece Dalu wakes him up early and demands he get up to open gifts. Whenua and Nuju visit Kualus and his family for Christmas, and Kualus secretly conveys that he needs to talk with them alone later. Gali tries to engage her niece Gavla in conversation, and talks to her youngest brother, Gavla's dad, about her. Kopaka visits his grandmother, who he worries incessantly over, and she fondly reminisces about his childhood affinity for snow. Whenua, Kualus, and Nuju talk about Kualus's teammate Gaaki having a vision of a Toa of Light appearing at Kini Nui, and bringing Norik home from Europe. Later, Matoro asks Nuju for advice on figuring out whether or not he's gay, and reveals that he saw Nuju sign a word he doesn't know (Nuju's homemade sign for Toa). Vakama and Nokama get a phone call from Matau while they're checking in on the school. Vakama gets a vision of Akamai and Wairuha, asking him to ensure the Turaga help the Toa through an upcoming difficult trial.
