Tohma mentioned that with the Dionysia ghouls back, the security system has to be much stronger now. Because of that, both he and Alan have to work out in the open instead of relying on the secret alliance they've been running. It's also their way of flushing the spy out into the open.
Which actually made me realize... the Dionysia ghouls helping strengthen the security system doesn't just affect Tohma's investigation. It also makes life way harder for the spy. Their return isn't even a bad thing. If anything, it's probably one of the best things that could've happened.
Now I'm just hoping we get to see the Houses actually work together more in the future.
We already knew Tohma and Alan had been secretly investigating the spy together for a LONG time. Way before Tohma even transferred to Frostheim. Jin found out about it back in the Masquerade ep in SS1 when Tohma brought Alan over to Frostheim to talk.
I honestly wonder if that's also why Jin was so determined to take the high-ranking mission to retrieve the ship.
We know the next episode in SS2 is Jabberwock. We also know that even when MC didn't go with Vagastrom on the Vanishing Cabinet mission this season, the ghouls still went anyway. The story just kept moving without MC. But the artisans also come back and repair the security so likely those anomalies can't get out -> nothing happen -> no episode no mission -> no one needs to go on that mission.
So... is MC even going on this retrieval mission with Frostheim?Maybe not.
Also I think the reason Jin had Lucas take over his role during Cowherd was because he wanted to test him.
Remember my unfathomable mission theory where I said Jin and Tohma were basically evaluating Lucas and Kaito to see if they were ready to inherit their roles once they become 4th years and graduate?
And by the end, both Jin and Tohma seemed to come to the exact same conclusion. These kids are NOT ready 💀
Which also explains that conversation between Tohma and Alan before Gala, where implied that Tohma was trying to convince Darkwick to remove the rule that the captain and vice-captain HAVE to be ghouls next year.
Because from their perspective, Lucas and Kaito still don't have enough experience.
So this Star Festival mission honestly feels like another one of Jin's little "pop quiz, no studying allowed" leadership exams for Lucas.
Did Lucas pass? Did he fail?
Is Jin gonna schedule another practical exam against his will? No idea.
Maybe we'll get an inter-House mission centered around Kaito next.
(Or maybe I'm just connecting red strings on my conspiracy board again. Do NOT trust me. I'm projecting so hard the projector overheated.)
Like I said before, I really hope we get to see the Houses work together more.
Because honestly, half the disasters in this game would've been avoided if everyone could stop beefing for five minutes and cooperate.
The spy knows that too. That's literally why they've been orchestrating event after event to drive wedges between all the Houses.
Together, the Houses are way too strong. There's no room for someone to sneak around behind the scenes.
So the easiest solution? Break the trust first. Divide them. Then everything else falls apart on its own.
Also, based on what Tohma said about the Dionysia ghouls...
I actually don't buy that they were doing all of this purely out of "volunteer work."
If they're anything like the other Houses, they probably didn't have much of a choice. They were expected to work for Darkwick whether they wanted to or not.
So... yeah. I can kinda understand why they deserted. Getting exploited would make me disappear into the woods too.
Like i said, i could roughly summarize this story within two paragraphs but it'll be too messy to understand. Instead, let's picking up darkwick crumbs that turns out to be quite important but got foreshadowed by the main sci-fi plot
Warning ⚠️ i mixed a lot of theories and plot in this blog so don't take everything as canon🔥
Where do i start.
First, let's take a small look again on darkwick house faction. Even though they already mentioned it before, it seems like despite being on the same faction a house relationship could still be strained one and another. For example, both Frostheim and Dionysia are a sympathizers, however they're keeping a visible distance and even banned from associating with one and another. It might have something to do with shion leading whether is happening in the clash or Frostheim is just a bunch of nepo babies who can't maintain a standard human interaction.
I believe the situation aren't much different on dissidents side either🤔 but we'll see.

Now to the important part, Vagastrom and Frostheim ceasefire.
Let's take a look at the base first. Upon Dionysia returns, darkwick manage to improve their security systems which i believe was destroyed or at least being weakened due to the clash incident. During this weakening period, tohma managed to gathered A1 information from the top brass (i assume he's refering to both darkwick and institute internals).
However, upon clockwork artisan returns he couldn't lies his hand on their information no more. If you're wondering how much improvement has the clockwork artisan made, they manage to capture yoshitaka on facility 6 by just sending general students which in season 1 are handled by ghouls due to yoshitaka hoodwink power. The security systems is THAT STRONG.
Since they can't play behind the shadows anymore, they have to step into the puddle themselves. This might explain the sudden ceasefire between Vagastrom and Frostheim. Both Alan and Tohma has been working together to capture the spy loonggg before tohma transfered to Frostheim.
Yes, i repeat, far before Tohma transfered to Frostheim. In chapter 41 of this episode, Alan and tohma mentioned that they've done something this big is during tohma switched over to Frostheim.
Knowing Tohma, he might used Alan background as son of an ex-staff who died in disgrace to form an ally. Since both of them know the decay roots of the institute, it would really explain on why they tried to make jin win the laurell crown. My theory is that Tohma transfered to Frostheim to get closer with the institute, since we know darkwick favoured Frostheim above any other houses.
While on the process, they found out about the conflict between japanese branch institute heirs with Jin and His older sister opposing each other. Jin doesn't know about Tohma and Alan alliance until the masquerade ball chapter, so I'm really curious on why would they prioritizing Jin to win the Laurel Crown.
I believe it has something to do with Jin succession as an heir? Like shion mentioned, Jin couldn't use his stigma after the clash. If i calculate it roughly, it happened around the same time his mother passed away—half a year ago. Does his mother death has something to do with his father and sister????? Murder??? Anything??? What is happening in Kamurai household.
We know that before the clash—or roughly speaking—during his second year, Jin used to be a very different person from he is now.

“Untouchable. People called him a tyrant behind his back though.”
During his first to second year, Jin seems to be a charismatic and active leader which befitting his personality as the heir of the institute. But since Jin took a surprisingly different turn to the point he become a complete shut in, i can see the power imbalance between him and his sister. So I would say that both Tohma and Alan doesn't want Jin older sister to be the president of the institute and instead they're supporting Jin to be the president. Wow, politics. (And looking by their reactiong when shion finds out, they seem to not wanting anyone to know about this, cause it might damage Jin reputation. Which added more evidence that they really trying to push Jin status to be in pair with his sister). It would also explain why Frostheim can won laurel crown in the last timeline, because Tohma and Jin basically using all of their stolen knowledge and privilege from the institute 😂😂
And now, with how they couldn't stealing information from the top brass, the security got buffed up and Jin who had known everything, they took the different turn from season one by luring the spy out of his hideout via ended the clash between faction which begin from Vagastrom and Frostheim ceasefire.
Thought, it would take some times to really end them since the leader of dissidents faction, Natori Enzo is absent. I can't really grasp their intention other than Alan and Tohma wanting to catch the spy and blackmailed them to gather more information from the institute lmfaoo.
And that's the conclusion.
Basically, it's really just Jin Kamurai and his family. So much things happening to the point i really forgive Jin and everything he does because NOW IT MADE SO MUCH SENSE.
I do have theories that Hreidhmar is taking Jin sides and that the agent on the triangle are referring to others ghouls instead and that "they're using you" wasn't entirely wrong since tohma and alan does using the prize from laurel crown for stabilize Jin position😂but I don't have enough clue or evidence so let it be a theory and take it as a grant of salt.
Dude this episode made me emotional wth, but also why was everyone just flirting with MC??? Like Luca, Jo, Subaru and the Sky King kinda ? (I dont count him since hes kind of my son now idk) and the boys looked great, though Jin and Ren were irritating me (JIN WHY WOULD WE LEAVE THE GIRL IN THE ALTERNATE DIMENSION BFFR)
