I buy second-hand books cheap and put them into full series sets that I sell on marketplace for money. I noticed that one of my books from an unfinished set is missing the first 8 pages (thanks to whoever donated that and then to whatever op shop sold it). I can't sell this book so I'm gonna do something else with it.
what should I do with the book?
chuck it in the recycle bin
draw in it like a notebook
use it as kindling for a fire
make lots of paper aeroplanes
try to learn origami with it
other (in tags)

bro, i got a library book wet. logically, i know the library is understanding and isn't going to bite my head off or revoke my borrowing privileges. i have enough money that i can pay for the new copy if need be. the book is currently drying out. it's all fine.
HOWEVER! my brain is all like "AHHHHH! THE WORLD IS ON FIRE! YOU ARE A TERRIBLE HUMAN BEING! YOU DAMAGED A LIBRARY BOOK!"
like, i KNOW it's Fine. not great, obviously, but Fine. if this were my own copy, i'd simply be annoyed (none of the text got wet, literally it was just the very edges from where it was too close to a damp towel in my bag), BUT IT'S A LIBRARY BOOK! I DAMAGED THE LIBRARY COPY!
anyway, this is my wonderful thought process right now preventing me from sleeping. freaking out, trying to reason, reason not work, proceed to panic.
Need Your Help, Page Damage
Recently, I was able to purchase a few older books from a local book sale. Of these books, one is particularly damaged.
The most severe of these damages occurs on pages 105/6. After reaching this page the previous owner must have gotten hungry and promptly eaten half the page. Jokes aside, if anybody has a copy of this book and would be able to send the text this page contains or a picture of the page, that would be appreciated as reading it in its current state may prove... rather challenging.
An American Tragedy (Theodore Dreiser), 1930 print, "Two Volumes In One" version, page is 105 (Chapter XIV, Volume I, Book I). Any help would be appreciated.
